2007-04-03 Thread ismail cassiem
cfgridcolumn name=Value numberformat=_-_,___,___.00 does not work

Normally in a table this works: #LSNumberFormat(SumInv,_-_,___,___.__)#
it will display as : 4,100.00 which is correct.

But when in a cgfrid
cfgridcolumn name=Invoice_Value numberformat=_-_,___,___.00
but it displays in the grid as: -, 4,100.00 which is incorrect

Please Help!

Thank You

 Bob,

I'm not familiar with the iSeries Apache Web server, but if you are
using a standard apache web server, you would use the wsconfig program
that gets installed with apache to connect to coldfusion. You can
also manually copy over the mod_jrun22.so or mod_jrun2.so files and
manually put in the configuration. Something like this:

 LoadModule jrun_module C:/JRun4/lib/wsconfig/mod_jrun22.so

 # JRun Settings
 IfModule mod_jrun22.c

   JRunConfig Verbose true

   JRunConfig Apialloc false

   JRunConfig Ssl false

   JRunConfig Ignoresuffixmap false

   JRunConfig Serverstore C:/JRun4/lib/wsconfig/1/jrunserver.
 store

   JRunConfig Bootstrap x.x.x.x:51002

#JRunConfig Errorurl optionally redirect to this URL on errors

   #JRunConfig ProxyRetryInterval 600

   #JRunConfig ConnectTimeout 15

   #JRunConfig RecvTimeout 300

   #JRunConfig SendTimeout 15

AddHandler jrun-handler .jsp .jws .cfm .cfml .cfc .cfr .cfswf

Russ,

IIS does not have a built-in re-write engine, what alternatives are

This thread has been totally hijacked into being an IIS vs. Apache

It doesn't really matter if he was using Apache or IIS with
ISAPI-Rewrite to do his re-writes, the fact is that he would probably
still need help, since the re-write syntax is pretty much the same.

Hopefully Pete is not completely discusted that he cannot get a simple

Dean,

I'm sorry if I've hijacked the discussion. I was simply answering someone
that said that Apache has no advantage on the Windows box, which I feel is
simply not true.

I see that someone gave Pete some examples right before this whole thread
hijacking started. Perhaps Pete has figured it out? I, too, would like to

SQL question

I am using MS SQL and have a field with data type DateTime.

I want to find all records with the day 4/2/2007?

If I do

I get no records and I have lots of records like this in the database:

4/2/2007 9:57:57 AM
4/2/2007 10:57:57 AM
4/2/2007 5:57:57 AM
4/2/2007 2:57:57 AM

I want to keep the time in my data so I don't want to modify the data type.

How do I write my query to find all records on the day 4/2/2007?

I want to find all records with the day 4/2/2007?

If I do
WHERE dateCreated = '04/02/2007'

I get no records and I have lots of records like this in the database:

4/2/2007 9:57:57 AM
4/2/2007 10:57:57 AM
4/2/2007 5:57:57 AM
4/2/2007 2:57:57 AM

I want to keep the time in my data so I don't want to modify the data type.

How do I write my query to find all records on the day 4/2/2007?

Re: SQL question

2007-04-03 Thread Phillip Ciske
Give the CONVERT function a try:

WHERE CONVERT(varchar(10), dateCreated, 101) = '04/02/2007'

This will change the style of the dateCreated value into mm/dd/
format, which is what the 101 means, when running the comparison.

RE: SQL question

2007-04-03 Thread Dawson, Michael
Option 1. Use the CONVERT() function to get strip the time from the
date. Then, you have a date string to which you can compare.

Option 2. Use a combination of DAY() MONTH() YEAR() SQL functions.
(This isn't the best solution, but it would work.)

Ex:

WHERE
DAY(dateCol)=#dayVar#
AND
MONTH(dateCol)=#monthVar#
AND
YEAR(dateCol)=#yearVal#

RE: OT ISAPI Rewrite

2007-04-03 Thread Dave Watts
I understand that you have to make excuses for your web server because
it doesn't support a certain feature.

I'm not sure what you mean by my web server, since I support several
different web servers, and work with them regularly. Some of my clients use
IIS, some use Apache, some use other web servers. I have very little control
over what they use, and if my answer to their web server configuration
questions was just use Apache, they would fire me.

I'm not sure why you felt that you have to resort to name calling.
Perhaps it is because you have conceded my argument. I humbly accept
 your surrender.

In the face of trollish behavior, surrender is the only option. I'm not
resorting to name-calling, simply observing your behavior. Nevertheless, I
will try to explain why I perceive your behavior as trollish.

This is CF-Talk, and managing a web server is part of the job for a lot
of us. When a problem comes up that might be related to IIS, I simply
point out that Apache might be a good solution to the problem that the
 person is having.

That is not an accurate description of your actions. This thread started
when a poster asked how to use ISAPI Rewrite. At that point, he already had
ISAPI Rewrite, which is functionally equivalent in most respects to
mod_rewrite, shares most of mod_rewrite's syntax, and is perfectly suitable
for the vast majority of URL rewriting needs. He simply wanted to know how
to rewrite URLs.

At that point, you suggested he use Apache instead. This is not a solution
to his problem, since he would still need to learn how to rewrite URLs. Your
response was either mindless evangelism or a troll. I'm not sure which is
worse, so I gave you the benefit of the doubt as to your being mindless.

If someone was using Apache and complained that they couldn't
understand the configuration files and wanted a GUI, wouldn't you
 suggest they move to IIS?

Probably not, actually. There are, as you know, plenty of administrative
utilities for Apache. In most cases, it's easier to learn how to use these
utilities than to change an integral part of your existing infrastructure.

And that's the crux of my point, with regard to your being a troll. If
someone has hundreds of virtual servers (presumably not an uncommon
situation for people on the list), with existing SSL certs, configuration
options, etc, etc, it is simply not a viable option to switch web servers in
many cases. Yet that is the only suggestion you ever make. Occasionally, you
may be right, in the same manner that a stopped clock is right twice a day.
Nevertheless, it is trollish behavior.

If someone said that they were using Apache and needed to
deploy a .NET app, would you not suggest they switch to IIS?

Probably, because IIS is the only supported platform for running .NET
applications, and new features in .NET will be available on IIS long before
they're available elsewhere.

I don't bash IIS on purpose; just provide arguments for Apache when
 someone asks for them.

But, in this thread, no one asked for them! Are you hearing voices?

I must say, It really is sad, that even with IIS 7, MS has not
provided the rewriting functionality as part of the server.

Who cares, other than you? There are plenty of ways to solve that problem.

The trick with date and MSSQL is using and . The string '04/02/2007'
is seen by MSSQL as '04/02/2007 00:00:00', so your condition will return
only those records with that exact timestamp. You have to use:

WHERE dateCreated = '04/02/2007'
AND dateCreateted '04/03/2007'

People people people :)

I have seen casting, converting, date-diffing, LIKE'ing,
MONTH()/Day()/Year()'ing Please do not run functions on your
date/time fields. Running a function on a column in general is extremely
slow. Date/time stamps can be used quite nicely with out them:

DECLARE @date DATETIME;
SET @date = '04/14/2006';

SELECT *
FROM [TABLE]
WHERE
date_created = @date
AND
date_created (@date + 1)

Notice that I comparing the date_created to the set date and also that
it is LESS than the set date PLUS one (the next day). This is going to
perform a 100 times better than any function you call on the date
column.

BETWEEN is good, but it is doubly-inclusive meaning that it is like
doing both = and =. In this case, it might turn up records where the
created date is exactly 12:00 AM the next day.

What we need is the = and the (not using the equals sign in the
second comparison).

both = and =. In this case, it might turn up records where the created
date is exactly 12:00 AM the next day.

What we need is the = and the (not using the equals sign in the second
comparison).

Straight from Wikipedia (I'm pretty sure you don't have to
cross-reference this one):

The current provinces are Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New
Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince
Edward Island, Quebec, and Saskatchewan. The three territories are
Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon.

RE: SQL question

2007-04-03 Thread Ben Nadel
Behind the scenes, date/times are really numbers. They are decimal
numbers that represent the number of days that have passed since a given
starting date. This starting date, the zero date, is different in SQL
than it is in Coldfusion, but the theory still holds.

One day = 1
Two days = 2

One and a half days = 1.5
One and a quarter days = 1.25

If you play around with CreateTimeSpan() in ColdFusion, you will see
this. CreateTimeSpan( 1, 0, 0, 0 ) === 1.

So, by adding one to a date, you are adding a single day (since you are
adding one to the underlying decimal value).

Thanks Ben, and Joe here is what finally worked for me.

dateCreated = '04/03/2007' AND dateCreated  DATEADD(DAY, 1, '04/03/2007')

With
dateCreated = '04/03/2007' AND dateCreated  ('04/03/2007' + 1)

I get this error:
Conversion failed when converting the varchar value '04/03/2007' to data type
int.

So I probably have to cast as a date in order to get this to work.

Has anybody installed this on MX7 and how did they get on with it? Is there
actually any issues with using it or is it just a case that MX7 now has all the

Mailer Service Bean Issues (MG and CS)

2007-04-03 Thread Robert Rawlins - Think Blue
You'll have to excuse me a little on this one guys, there's a fair amount of
code involved as I'm unsure as to where the error is occurring.

I've spent today building a mailer service which will handle all the email
processing for the application. This service consists of two elements,
firstly we have the service itself, this contains functions such as setTo(),
setContent(), setSubject() and post(), Anything that involves manipulating
the mail itself. I also have a mail config bean, which contains all the mail
server settings, usernames, passwords and things like this. The config bean
is meant to be passed into the service as a constructor, so I can then
access them for my cfmail tag as #VARIABLES.Instance.Config.getUsername()#
or something like that.

Now the problem I'm having is that when trying to use the service and access
functions such as the server, I get a message saying The value of the
attribute SERVER is invalid. The length of the string, 0 character(s), must
be greater than or equal to 1 character(s). Which would suggest that the
config bean is not being created correctly by my Cold Spring framework and
is just full of empty values, or, these values are lost by the time my
mailer service tries to use them.

I set the bean relationships in my ColdSpring XML file like so.

  !-- Mail Configuration --

  bean id=MailerConfig class=Model.Mailer.MailerConfigBean

constructor-arg name=OutgoingServer

  value***/value

/constructor-arg

constructor-arg name=Username

  value**/value

/constructor-arg

constructor-arg name=Password

  value/value

/constructor-arg

constructor-arg name=FromName

  valueThink Blue Confirmation/value

/constructor-arg

constructor-arg name=FromAddress

  value[EMAIL PROTECTED]/value

/constructor-arg

constructor-arg name=ReplyAddress

  value[EMAIL PROTECTED]/value

/constructor-arg

constructor-arg name=FailAddress

  value[EMAIL PROTECTED]/value

/constructor-arg

constructor-arg name=SpoolEnable

  valuetrue/value

/constructor-arg

  /bean

  !-- Mailing Service --

  bean id=MailerService class=Model.Mailer.MailerService

constructor-arg name=Config

  ref bean=MailerConfig/

/constructor-arg

  /bean

Then inside the mailer service I'm creating a reference to the bean in my
constructor arguments like this:

  !--- Class Constructor Method ---

  cffunction name=init access=public output=false
returntype=MailerService hint=I'm the class constructor method

cfargument name=Config type=any required=true
hint=Configuration for the mailer service /

  cfscript

setMailerConfigBean(ARGUMENTS.Config);

  /cfscript

cfreturn this /

  /cffunction

  !--- Set Mailer Config ---

  cffunction name=setMailerConfigBean access=public output=false
returntype=void hint=I set the config

cfargument name=MailerConfigBean required=true type=any
hint=Instance of the mailer configuration bean /

  cfscript

// Set the mail config

VARIABLES.Instance.Config =
ARGUMENTS.MailerConfigBean;

  /cfscript

  /cffunction

Now a quick look at the post function:

  !--- Post Mail ---

  cffunction name=post access=public output=false
returntype=void hint=I post the mail once its been created

cfset var LOCAL = structNew() /

cfmail from=#VARIABLES.Instance.Config.getFromAddress()#
to=#VARIABLES.Instance.To# subject=#VARIABLES.Instance.Subject#
type=html server=#VARIABLES.Instance.Config.getOutgoingServer()#
username=#VARIABLES.Instance.Config.getUsername()#
password=#VARIABLES.Instance.Config.getPassword()#

  pContent Goes Here/p

/cfmail

  /cffunction

Now, the service is auto wired into my communications controller using the
following method:

  !--- Set Mailer Service ---

  cffunction name=setMailerService access=public returntype=void
output=false hint=Autowire for the mailer service

cfargument name=MailerService required=true type=any
hint=Instance of the mailer service /

  cfscript

// Set Mailer Service

VARIABLES.MailerService = ARGUMENTS.MailerService;

  /cfscript

  /cffunction

And I then create the message and post it from inside the controller with a
simple script within any given function:

// If passed validation then process the mail

RE: Returning a user's roles?

2007-04-03 Thread Everett, Al \(NIH/NIGMS\) [C]
I'm using cflogin to authenticate users on a site. Is there a way to
return the roles that a user is in (i.e. the roles that are passed
in using CFLOGINUSER)? I'm using a very hackish method of looping
through all of the roles for a site and using isuserinrole() to
determine this, but was hoping that there was a more elegant solution.

Apparently not. You'll probably need to put something in the SESSION
scope to keep track of that.

IsUserInRole() does accept a comma-delimited list of roles, if that
helps.

Someone please tell me that this is so simple that I am just missing
it. I am trying to round this number - 207.44047619 to 207.44.

The only way that I can think to do this would be to roll a custom

overlooking?

Thanks Ben, and Joe here is what finally worked for me.

dateCreated = '04/03/2007' AND dateCreated  DATEADD(DAY, 1,
'04/03/2007')

With
dateCreated = '04/03/2007' AND dateCreated  ('04/03/2007' + 1)

I get this error:
Conversion failed when converting the varchar value '04/03/2007' to data
type int.

So I probably have to cast as a date in order to get this to work.

(Resend) Application.cfc and cflocation

2007-04-03 Thread Victor Moore
I'm resending this because I'm not sure it made it to the list.

Can somebody confirm that the cflocation in Application.cfc is working fine
in CFMX 7.02?
In my case it still triggers an onError event, which sends an email and as a
result I'm overwhelmed by useless error messages. The user doesn't see
anything and the code works as expected ...

Thanks

Re: Rounding to 2 decimal places.....

2007-04-03 Thread Barney Boisvert
#round(num * 100) / 100# will do just the math part. I.e. it won't
add commas for thousand separators or an extra trailing zero. If you
need to round the number and get a number (rather than a display
string), this method is preferable. That code is obviously suitable
for any number of decimal places, you need to raise 10 to the power of
the number of places you want and use it where I've used 100 (which is
10 ^ 2).

Thank Josh,

The code is in onRequestStart and it works, I mean it redirects the user,
but also triggers onError event.
It seems that it was a problem with using cflocation in Application.cfc and
was fixed in 7.01, at least this is what I have read on Ray blog.
Anyway this is the offending code:
cfif cgi.server_port neq 443
cfset newURL = https://; cgi.http_host cgi.path_info
 cfif len (cgi.query_string) gt 0
   cfset newURL = newURL ? cgi.query_string
 /cfif
 cflocation url='#newURL#' addtoken=no
/cfif
The line being reported onError is the line with cflocation

Thanks

Has anybody installed this on MX7 and how did they get on with it? Is there
actually any issues with using it or is it just a case that MX7 now has all
the tools natively to do the same job so AS have dropped it?

Re: Rounding to 2 decimal places.....

2007-04-03 Thread Barney Boisvert
That will truncate, leaving you with zero decimal places, not two.
This expression:

  #((num * 100) \ 1) / 100#

will do as you want, but it has the effect of truncating at two
decimal places, rather than rouding to two decimal places. E.g.,
123.4567 will become 123.45, rather than the desired 123.46. Not to
mention the fact that the round() call is much more readable.

People around here have been mentioning using a socket connection to get

Re: Another Subversion Question

2007-04-03 Thread Dinner
On 4/2/07, Zaphod Beeblebrox [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
Hmmm...I was thinking svn:externals was more for your working copy.
With SVK, I set up a mirror of Rays svn in my svn (svk calls it a
depot). Then I tell it to sync to my /trunk . Then I tell it to copy
from /trunk to /local. Now, whenever I want to make changes to it, I
check out the local version, I can make all the changes that I want to
and I can also update the trunk version from Ray's. At any point I
can diff or smerge my version and Rays.

Hey, that sounds pretty sweet! I'll have to check it out, I hadn't heard
of it (or had thought it was something else... another SVN client, which
it ain't).

externals are for more than your working copy- I think of them as SVN's
symlink. That's basically what externals are. As Barney B says, any
changes you make, if you want to commit them, would go to the remote
repository location.

So SVK sounds like exactly what you'd want to use if you wanted to
keep track of your changes in another repository than the one you
got the code from.

The way I do it, is:

/blogcfc = an external from his repository
/myblog = export of blogcfc which I modified

Make some changes to myblog...
Then I teamexport myblog into blogcfc, which copies everything
(but without any version information (no .svn dirs)) into /blogcfc.

Then, since I cannot commit to the blogcfc repository (wouldn't want
to, either. My stuff is separate), but I *do* want others to be able
to get my changes, I'll run a teamcreate patch, which will make
a single diff file containing any changes to the blogcfc source.

Thus, I can send that patch file to anyone who has the original source
checked out, and they can apply it, and boom, they're in like flynn.

Course, they neither can commit to blogcfc core code, so they'd have
to do the same thing as me- once they patched their copy of the original
blogcfc code, they'd have to teamexport it into another location to be
managed by their own repository.

Great for one-off type stuff, but probably more work than SVK? Eh.
I like how SVK can use different kinds of Source Control... that's pimp.

Yeah, that's a swell idea. Hmm... eh. Later, I'll check it out...

Re: Rounding to 2 decimal places.....

2007-04-03 Thread Peter Boughton
Yeah, dunno what I was thinking there.
Not sure if I actually woke up this morning; I've been doing similar things
through-out today. :(

Not to
mention the fact that the round() call is much more readable.

cheers,
barneyb

Re: (Resend) Application.cfc and cflocation

2007-04-03 Thread Jake Pilgrim
coldfusion.runtime.AbortException suggests the execution of a CFABORT tag
somewhere. I'm guessing you forgot about a CFABORT tag during development -
probably on your include page.

Now in our shop, we occasionally throw cfaborts for valid reasons (like a user
trying to access a protected area). So in our onError function, we pitch these
errors right out the window:

cfif structkeyexists(arguments.exception,'rootCause') and
arguments.exception.rootCause.Type EQ coldfusion.runtime.AbortException
   cfreturn /
/cfif

Hope that helps...

RE: CF Offline Application like Apollo

2007-04-03 Thread Heald, Timothy J
You couldn't use developers edition it would be a violation of the
license, they would need a license for each and every machine the
application is running on.

Access is also a horrible method of doing something like this. I'm not
sure how VBA forms handle file interactions, but what VBA experience I
do have has left me scarred and crying in the corner :)

You would most likely want a standalone desktop application written in
C# or Java that has export capabilities, however, if it were me I would
fight with them about getting internet connectivity, I mean if this is
really a national chain the money shouldn't be prohibitive, and they can
get all kinds of other benefits out of it.

Finally, you mentioned Apollo in your subject, have you taken a look at
the Apollo beta at:

Just don't forget that isUserInRole() is an AND check. If you want an

through all of the roles for a site and using isuserinrole() to

Apparently not. You'll probably need to put something in the SESSION

IsUserInRole() does accept a comma-delimited list of roles, if that
 helps.

The document is not open.

2007-04-03 Thread Christopher Jordan
Hi folks,

I know I've seen this posted before, but it wasn't responded to (that I
could find), so I'll post it again.

I'm using CFX_PDF from the folks at easel2.com. The Powers-That-Be are
too cheap to get CF7 right now, and they might as well wait for Scorpio
if they're gonna upgrade, so I'm kinda stuck with CFX_PDF for the time
being. Anyway, for some reason every once in a while one or more of our
reports will generate the error:

 The document is not open.

The error occurred in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\CFX_PDF\pdf.cfm: line 48
 Called from... etc., etc.

Does anyone know why this happens? It's strange, if I run a report for
04/01 of this year the thing runs fine, but if I run the same report for
04/03, then I get this error.

I'd love some help trying to track down an answer to this problem. It's
got me stumped.

Thanks,
Chris

can you provide a sample of your data and the way your table is
designed (column name, type)?
Thanks

Re: SQL Help - Answered

2007-04-03 Thread Josh Nathanson
I don't think you need DISTINCT at all if you are using GROUP BY. GROUP BY
will group all the matching rate values together automatically, so the
result will be all distinct values. Try something like (not tested)

SELECT Count(rate) as ratecount, rate
FROM myrates
etc.
GROUP BY rate

Dump that and see if you're any closer to what you want.

RE: chart images distorted when creating PDF

2007-04-03 Thread Mark A Kruger
Ok... Here's something to check. Make sure that windows security has not
enabled the windows native firewall. If it has disable it. According to this
fellow:

http://info4tech.wordpress.com/tag/network-administration/

A security patch that enabled the firewall caused his server to fail -
probably because the internal port needed for the jrun connector was no
longer enabled.

Along that lines you can check security in general. Open the security
control panel. Is the service set to an account or is it set to use the
local system account.

Rafael,

Is there a message in the /runtime/logs/ directoryin the *.out file It
should show the startup progress and may show where the exception
occurred.

Did you back up the cfusionmx7 directory befor beginning.

Did you have any trouble on the updgrade?

Are you running the latest update for CF7? There were some issues with
embedding images in PDFs in early versions of 7.

On 4/3/07, Rafael Marquez [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

times multiple images are bad. While other times it looks fine. Any

Rafael,

If you installed the hotfix by uploading the .jar through the
CFAdmin, you can revert by deleting (or moving) the .jar file. On a
windows machine this is usually located at: C:\CFusionMX7\lib\updates

I had a similar problem with the charting hotfix when I installed it,
but it wasn't a critical update for me so I skipped trying it again
until the next cumulative hotfix.

Once you delete the file, you should be able to restart and go.

Rafael,

Is there a message in the /runtime/logs/ directoryin the *.out file It

should show the startup progress and may show where the

WSE Security - anyone have any experience with it?

2007-04-03 Thread Mike Kear
My client has asked for advice on what the ramifications might be for
his site if he shares content with another company who uses WSE
Security.

The content will require secure access - there's dollars being passed
back and forth - and this other company is a .net site, and they use
WSE security.

So .. now II have to bone up on what it means for a CF7.0.2
enterprise/Win2003 environment.

Can anyone point me at any resources so I can learn about it.
preferably not anything from Microsoft I have the greatest difficulty
learning anything from their documentation.

Thanks!
I can breathe again!
I still have the issue with the broken chart images, though..
How did you fix that problem?

HTH,
Jon

 Rafael,

Why don't you post the contents of the /runtime/bin/jvm.config
 file. It
might have a clue or 2.

CF doesn't support WS-Security directly, so you'll have to write Java code
to make this happen. Google ws security axis for more information - Apache
Axis is the Java library that CF uses for web services.

Looked fine to me, with a cursory glance.

Have you just plain cfdumpedcfaborted at each stage along the way,
as a sorta sanity check from one bit to the next?

I find that straightforward and brutal method to work well in most cases.
