Perfect, thanks Den. Yeah, looking at this as a part of an automated

 Theoretically throwing errors on bad syntax.  :)

 You could also create an Ant script for it.  Google knows...

that your two choices for a coldfusion forum are CFMBB and Galleon - I've
looked at both and to reiterate they aren't really what we're looking for.
Basically I'm looking for a very simple CFC-based forum - I don't need nor want

replies, and scrubs input.

Does anyone know of other forums for Coldfusion?

 that is why I posted my question!! because in reality his request does

Hi Eric,

Right click on your project go to Properties, select CFEclipse Properties
and make sure ColdFusion 9 is selected as the CFML Language Version.

If you don't have an option for CFEclipse Properties right click on your
project and select Add CFE Nature, then it should show up.

You can also edit the plugin's dictionary files if you need to, but if you
do that you might want to share your changes with the cfeclipse team.

RE: Web service operation... with parameters...cannot be found. error

2010-08-10 Thread Josh Nathanson

Web services tend to get cached -- I notice you said you get the same error
even removing all the code so it sounds like that is what's happening.

There are a couple of ways you can clear them:
1) In the CF administrator (if you have access) there is a section where you
can see any cached webservices and clear them manually.
2) You can add refreshWSDL=true as an additional attribute to your
cfinvoke tag. This will slow things down but it can be very useful when in
development.

getting started with application.cfc

2010-08-10 Thread Matthew P. Smith

I am (finally) transitioning to Application.cfc, as we have just upgraded to
CF 9.

In my old Application.cfm, I am serving several sites/apps with conditional
code, something like this:

cfset currentSiteDomain = cgi.server_name

cfif findNoCase(domain1,currentSiteDomain,1)
cfset request.currentSiteName = www_domain1_com
 cfset request.applicationname = www_domain1_com
/cfif

cfapplication
name=#request.applicationname#
 clientmanagement=Yes
sessionmanagement=Yes
setclientcookies=Yes

Should this code go in onrequeststart, or at the top of the cfc definition?

Thank you.

Hi Josh, I tried both of those methods. In the CF Administrator, the web

output of my 404.cfm

2010-08-10 Thread Matthew P. Smith

I am trying to serve pages using both onMissingTemplate and a custom 404
page.

This works:
domain.com/not-there/index.cfm

It seems to properly be using the onMissingTemplate method.

This does not:
domain.com/not-there/

From the debug, I can see that:

CGI.SCRIPT_NAME=/404.cfm

However, in the execution time, the template does not show:
*Execution Time*

 *Total Time* *Avg Time**Count* *Template*0 ms 0 ms1 CFC[
\\awesome-pc\inetpub\wwwroot\domain_com\Application.cfc |
onRequest(/404.cfm) ] from
\\awesome-pc\inetpub\wwwroot\domain_com\Application.cfc 0 ms0 ms 1CFC[

onRequestStart(/404.cfm) ] from
\\awesome-pc\inetpub\wwwroot\domain_com\Application.cfc *5 ms*  *STARTUP,
PARSING, COMPILING, LOADING, SHUTDOWN* *5 ms* *TOTAL EXECUTION TIME*

At this point, I am just trying to display the output 404 called. I have
made sure it is within cfoutput tags, and verified that cfsetting
enablecfoutputonly=no is set under onRequestStart.

Not sure what is going on.

As I stated in my other post, I am just transitioning to Application.cfc, so
I am sure it has to do with that. 404.cfm was working properly with
Application.cfm.

Ray,

Try placing a blank Application.cfm file in the directory containing the CFCs
for the Web Service. Doing that will override any potential output that is
being pumped out by your base Application.cfm and breaking the wsdl.

Anyone experienced with urlrewrite by Tuckey - question about rule that fails

2010-08-10 Thread Gerald Weir

Hello,

I'm having a problem with a rule. We just updated the framework of our
ColdFusion website. We've been using urlrewrite with CF and IIS for several
years now. I wrote a new reduced set of rules that uses a broader regEx to
allow url's that have multiple parameters to be properly handled regardless of
their order.

Here's an example of the url that is giving us trouble - note the single
quotes/apostrophe in women's:

http://www.OURWEBSITE.com/Support-Mobility/Support-Socks-More/Compression-Socks/63685.cfm?key=18129002cm_mmc=Google-_-Non-Brand-_-Women's%20Moderate%20Compression%20Socks-_-women's%20navy%20moderate%20compression%20socks

Under the old rule the inclusion of the apostrophe would have the result of
going to a page not found error because no rule allows apostrophe's:

OLD rule:

rule enabled=true

from^/support-mobility/([a-z|\-]+)/([\w|\-]+)/([0-9]+).cfm(\?key\=[\w]+)(\amp;cm_mmc\=[\w|\+|\%|\-|\{|\}|\:|\.]+)$/from
to/catalog/index.cfm$4amp;action=productamp;single_item=$3$5/to
/rule

However, when I tried out the new rule on our website we found that when the
url above was sent the request would end up stuck - for lack of a better word:

NEW rule:

rule enabled=true
 nameStandard Product URL/name
 noteThis rule supports standard product URLs with URL
parameters./note

from^/[\w|\-]+/[\w|\-]+/[\w|\-]+/([0-9N]+).cfm((\?([\w|\+|\%|\-|\{|\}|\:|\.|\=|amp;]+)+)*)$/from

to/catalog/index.cfm?fuseaction=productamp;single_item=$1amp;$4/to
/rule

The difference between old and new is that I'm trying to pick up all of the url
params and pass them through as 1 big chunk since they generally will also
contain utm_term, utm_source, utm_medium, cpnsource, cm_guid, etc.

When requests that match the criteria AND include an apostrophe come to IIS it
appears that IIS forwards it to seeFusion (an analysis tool) but it stops and
the request just starts to gobble up memory until enough of them are stuck in
the cue that they end up pushing the CPU to 100% utilization.

Does anyone have any thoughts about why the behavior is different. Neither
rule says to allow apostrophe's and yet the URL above seems to get rewritten
and passed to ColdFusion.

I don't know if I'm describing accurately where the request ends up but I can
see that they go into a cue where they do not complete.

Thanks in advance, Jerry
