no host will give you access to the cfadmin on shared hosting, if you want this then you need dedicated server/vps or use Railo instead which gives you Railo Web admin to do everything. ODBC data sources can be added in any hosting control panel, but they do not work with ColdFusion anyway, you must use a ColdFusion (JDBC) DSN. If you are in USA, then hostek.com are popular, as are viviotech and EdgeWebHosting. I would highly recommend a VPS with Viviotech. They also have shared plans, although I'm not certain what is allowed/disallowed under those plans. But that's a bridge from jdbc to odbc, not native odbc. If you simply create an odbc dsn in windows, you wont be able to use it without a bridge. I found this somewhat related article. Well, no it is not the same. This one seems to deal with an error when setting the SRC attribute by Javascript, which is not what I'm doing. Whet I have is a page like myPage.cfm which has an IFRAME SRC=myPageEdit.cfm... When it works normally I do see in the HTTP log that myPage.cfm was requested, immeditly followed by myPageEdit.cfm. But whe the problem occurs, myPage.cfm is followed by a request for the site root: /. This prooves that the problem is not with on the server side, but with Explorer. IE9 is replacing what is in the SRC attribute by nothing. Today I was in my client's office, I saw the problem. I just checked and unchecked a couple of options and bingo ! Now it works. BUT then, he told me he also had the same problem with his laptop, so we opened the laptop, tried the page, without modifying any option, and bingo! It worked also! How about that? You see I said , I'm able to fix your two PC touching only one! Then, I reset all the options as they were before, and POUF! It still worked normally! IE9 is really weird. I am looking for a safe and secure way to put an example page on my site that will allow a potential client to upload a JPG in order to see an example of a responsive photo gallery he can create using my new responsive web template I am in the process of building. Here is what I am considering in the upload process: 1...JPG extension only 2...file size limit 3...remove exif data if it exists 4...Convert file to PNG and save after doing the resizing, etc. that I need to. I would like some opinions, suggestions, etc. to tell me if I am missing something or there is any other avenues I can persue to accomplish my goal to stop anyone from using this to hack my site.
