RE: CFMX 6.1 developer edition?

2003-08-14 Thread Lee Fuller
Actually it does. I haven't tried it. But it did.

[ If I remember correctly you won't get the opportunity to go
[ to JRun/J2EE with an update to 6.1 with the developer
[ edition, but yes the developer edition still exists. You can
[ even tell the installer that that is what you want during the
[ install. ;o)

RE: CFMX 6.1 developer edition?

2003-08-14 Thread Dave Watts
Does the developer edition still exist with CFMX 6.1? Still
from an expired trial version of CFMX Enterprise? Do we get
the option to go JRun/J2EE with the trial? Should we update
our existing CFMX 6.0 developer editions with the 6.1 updater?
Do we get the option to go JRun/J2EE if we do this? (So many
 questions . . .) Thanks!

Yes, you can run any configuration of CFMX 6.1, standalone or J2EE, as a
single-user developer version. If your developers are going to write code on
their workstations that will be deployed on CFMX 6.1 servers, they should
probably upgrade to 6.1, too. I'm not sure if the upgrade process allows you
to configure your machine to use J2EE, but it would be easy enough to just
uninstall their existing CFMX and install 6.1 from scratch if it doesn't.
Datasources and other configuration info could easily be archived first
using the Archive Restore functionality in the CF Administrator.
