RE: Forcing Word to open
Actually, there's no way (that I know of) to FORCE the downloaded file to open word. That's really a function of the browser settings. For example, with IE, you can force all word files to be saved to disk instead of opening in Word. You would do this through the OS (File Options). -- Mosh Teitelbaum evoch, LLC Tel: (301) 625-9191 Fax: (301) 933-3651 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] WWW: http://www.evoch.com/ -Original Message- From: Hugo Ahlenius [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, October 01, 2002 12:55 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: RE: Forcing Word to open Yes, I wished more documents would do that, I hate acrobat/word/excel in the browser... Re: Forcing Word to open
here's what I make (encourage) my clients do... (one-shot deal unless they upgrade to XP or something) - start button - run (explorer.exe) - Click Tools - Click Folder options - Click File Types tab - Scroll down to .DOC - Click Advanced - Deselect 'Browse in same window' - You may want to select 'Confirm open after download' -mv Frank Mamone wrote: Is is possible to force a Word document to open with Word outside the browser in an IE only environment?
