the problem with sticking with an old version of CF is that you are
vulnerable to all these recent hacks and any future ones as CF8 will not
be getting anew new security hotfixes.

well and we have several thousand customers to migrate to another product

the company they referred me to doesn't support coldfusion..
Will probably change to paypal.. anyone have any better suggestions?

The JS array for the addresses to work correctly must be populated like this:
var addresses = ['town1,postcode1','town2,postcode2','town3,postcode3'];
which all comes from a DB table admin updates, untiladmin accidentally
entered an apostrophe within an address name so it was like
['town1,post'code1'] so JS couldn't process it correctly.
Posted this in case somebody else has the same problem.

RE: google map suddenly not showing

2011-08-28 Thread Eric Roberts

If you aren't using the cfmap tags and just using the google API directly,
the latest version (3) does not use an API key. However, cfmap requires it
and if you changed the domain, it won't work. You will need to go to the
version 2 api and generate a key. I wish CF would update the cfmap code to
the version 3 api.

Sorry part of the post was actually cut off: here it is again.

When doing a CFHTTP post to google charts api: it returns a mime type of
image/png. How do you show that image directly on the page?

result="qrResult">

The qrresult as it is now just shows a bunch of characters, which is the raw

Yes that's what I found too when using an API that returned images that did not

Re: Google Charts - QR Code - cfimage

2011-02-09 Thread Dan G. Switzer, II

JD,

In my experience, the image functions generally want an extension for the
input so the image libraries know how to handle the image. Since the URL
doesn't have a ".png" in the filename, I think that's the problem.

You may need to use CFHTTP to save the image as a PNG on a filesystem and
then read the image off disk.

Yeah...I've meant to set up an email box as you've done, but never gotten to

So how do you do that...do you do CFPOPs as a scheduled task and then parse
the email body for ARB account information?

Yes.. I agree - no real time call back when ARB posts... that would be nice.

We set up email boxes for the report and consume the emails and files
automatically so we can flag exceptions, then we send out an "exceptions"

The one headache I have with them is that AFAIK there's no "pingback" option
when a scheduled payment fails...they just send you an email, so I have to
use that emailed information and do some manual stuff in my application. I
haven't looked into it for a while so maybe they have that now.

The one headache I have with them is that AFAIK there's no "pingback" option
when a scheduled payment fails...they just send you an email, so I have to
use that emailed information and do some manual stuff in my application. I
haven't looked into it for a while so maybe they have that now.

Josh,

To add to that... Authorize.net (AN) has 2 options... one is "ARB"
(automatic reoccurring billing). It's a bit tricky if you have things like
free trials and discounts etc. But not too bad. The second is CIM - where AN
holds onto the CC info and you can charge against it using the API. So with
this method you are responsible for the billing engine piece of it (you
create the charges yourself using a task or whatever - rather than having AN
do it on a schedule).

Thanks.
What's their API like? Easy to use? Do you use hosted checkout pages or custom

Re: Google Adwords API Question..

2010-07-08 Thread Matt Blatchley

So I ran into another issue with the API once I got it pulling real
data in the production environment.

I'm trying to pull out Impressions, Cost, CPC, CPM, etc...

When I get the data back it shows cost as 1691 instead of 16.91.

How am I supposed to know that it's not 169.10 and not 16.91?

I must have missed something pretty simple here?

It does the same thing with CPC; shows 187 instead of 1.88, how am
I supposed to know it's not 18.88

This is a constant problem with the adWords API - if you are trying to get the
prior day's data, then you have to decide when you want to try and pull the
data, and then hope for the best. There are no API calls in adWords (like
there are in Yahoo's API) to find out when the data is ready to pull. What we
do for the daily performance numbers is to setup a scheduled report on the
AdWords GUI, and have it emailed to us. We have a CF task that monitor's the
inbox used for the purpose, and unloads the incoming files for processing.
That way Google is in control of determining when to send the data.

You also need to take into account the fact that the performance data for a
specific date can change anytime during the 30 days that follow, as changes are
made for click-fraud corrections. 99% of the time those changes are only made
within a day or two after the date.

Re: Google Adwords API Question..

2010-07-08 Thread Reed Powell

The process you described is that of the V13 release of the AdWords API. They
have recently released the V2010 Beta of the reporting service, and life is
much simpler, although they have not yet moved all of the V13 reporting
functionality to V2010 (and some of the old functionality is probably going to
be left to die on the vine).

In V2010, there are only 2 required steps (3 if you do the validate, but that
was an optional step in V13 as well):
1. Define the report job - this is a SOAP call where you specify the account,
type of report, date range, and data items desired. This just defines the
report, it doesn't run the report
2. Request the report, using the job# returned from step 1. This is a REST
call and has to be for the same client account for which the report was
defined. It will return the actual file data of the report. The format (CSV,
XML, ...) and compression (ZIP) would have been specified in the report
definition in Step 1.

The "wait time" that we used to have to deal with in V13 is now implicit in how
long the REST call in Step 2 takes to complete, since that is when it generates
the report and returns the report data. From the looks of things, and
discussions on the adWords API forum/blog, you really only have to define the
report once for each client, so long as you aren't using hard-coded date
ranges, and then pull that same report's JOB # each day. I haven't tried that
approach yet.

FYI, they have not yet set a price for doing the report pull in step 2.
Hopefully it will be at least as cheap as it was in V13.

There is an associated API call added in V2010 to return the names of the
fields that you can specify in the report definitions for each type of report.
Those names are no longer in the docs, so you need to do the API call to get
the data values to use on subsequent API calls.

Good luck, yell if you need more help, there are a couple of CF adWords API
people on this list.

Probably. Or else have one task responsible for doing 1 & 2 for any/all
clients currently requiring reports and have another task responsible for
doing 3, 4, & 5 for those same set of clients and then make sure there's at
least 30 minutes between the two tasks. Something like that.

We did not have this stuff set up back then. This part (at least) has been
rock-solid since about Q4 2008.

Re: Google Adwords API Question..

2010-07-07 Thread Matt Blatchley

It for a SaS, so it would have to run reports continuously for x
number of clients on the system. You think that would still be
something that would work if I had multiple tasks setup for each
client on the system?

You ever run into reliability issues with the Reports coming back
empty or generating an error etc? I kept reading on old threads that
it wasn't very reliable, but that was from a thread in 2006 or
something.

Re: Google Adwords API Question..

2010-07-07 Thread John M Bliss

We just have two CF scheduled processes. One that does #1 and #2 and the
other that does #3, #4, and #5. And then, via the CF scheduler, we put *at
least* 30 minutes between those two processes and...problem solved. Will
that not work for you? Are you trying to do this in "real time" while an
end-user waits for results or what? (For us, these are just nightly
processes that pump data into our database.)

Thank you very much. That also worked perfectly.

This is why I love this forum and community.

just replace 'xml_api_reply' with 'xmlroot' (without the quotes, of course):

Condition =

2009-05-30 Thread Jenny Gavin-Wear

Hi Ryan,

I looked at the page again in firefox using the Javascript error console

http://maps.google.com/maps?file=api&v=2&key=#session.GoogleKey
#"
 type="text/javascript">

//
function load() {
 if (GBrowserIsCompatible()) {
var map = new GMap2(document.getElementById("map"));
map.setCenter(new GLatLng(#dLatitude#, #dLongitude#), 14);
map.addControl(new GLargeMapControl());
map.centerAndZoom(new GPoint(#dLatitude#, #dLongitude#), 3);
var point = new GPoint(#dLatitude#, #dLongitude#);
var marker = new GMarker(point);
map.addOverlay(marker);
 }
}
//

The line:
map.centerAndZoom(new GPoint(#dLatitude#, #dLongitude#), 3);

gives the error:
map.centerAndZoom is not a function

I removed this line assuming if it was bad the script would stop processing
at this point, but still no marker.

Jenny

Re: Google Map API

2009-05-15 Thread Brian Swartzfager

I don't see anything obviously wrong with it either (I don't know that the
missing ";" Paul pointed out would matter given that it's the last statement
within a block, though I personally end every statement with a ";" as a matter
of habit).

I assume that something on the page is calling your load() function (it won't
run by itself with just the code you shared with us).

Have you tried running this in Firefox with the Firebug plugin installed and
set to monitor the scripting activities on the page? That would tell you if
there's any sort of error with the JavaScript, either in this snippet of code
or perhaps in some earlier JavaScript function such that this Google Map
JavaScript never gets run.

Re: Google for Domains, mail not being sent

2008-09-22 Thread J.J. Merrick
Chuck,

I think you may be confusing your MX records for google with the SMTP
server. You are able to connect because the MX server does listen on
port 25 and will respond but will not allow you to relay email through
it.

Your settings in CF Administrator need to be:

server: smtp.gmail.com
username: any user on your domain
password: well you know
Port: 465

Check: Enable SSL socket connections to mail server
Check: Enable TLS connection to mail server

Don't worry about backups because SMTP is already load balanced on their end.

NOTE: Keep in mind that Google's SMTP for domains does one weird
thing... it ignores the "From" and will always put in the FROM
information for the account you are using to send. This is a security
feature they have inacted and it is to keep down spam on their end.
Basically you can't "spoof" a user by just putting whatever you want
in the from.

Hey, thanks for all the suggestions. I got it working kind of like Dan

I created another account in Google and setup CF Admin to smtp.google.com
and used the account information I created to send the mail through.

It might not be the correct way, but it works and that is all I need for
now. I will revisit this sometime in the future.

Thanks again,

Re: Google for Domains, mail not being sent

2008-09-20 Thread Dan O'Keefe
Chuck,

I don't think your SMTP server is correct and not sure if you should
list all of the other's as backups.

As Kym mentioned, since you know the DNS entries for a google mail
account, I am assuming you have one and have the domain configured to

Try dropping a local mail server on your server and use that to send the
mail to Google, or anywhere else for that matter. We use iMS Lite
(coolfusion.com) on each machine to pass the mail on and that way we can
get real mail server logs that tell us what it going wrong.

CF is best at sending mail to a local mail server, it does not have the
error handling ability of a full-blown mail server.

If you are using goggle as a mail server do you have an account that
allows mail to be relayed on or are the addresses you are sending to all
at goggle itself?

It is probably the To: address of the actual email that is wrong, not

i don't think quotes are required.

using google's default code (entered 23 in dollar value), they give the
following code...

it is the if (23) bit that must be causing the problem. what do i enter here if
the value is dynamic??
