Good point.. I looked into it... I set up ralio and tested the website. A lot of pages didn't work.. such as cfform. I know it is easy to replaced that validation with jquery.. just not enough hours in the day. I will work on it now as I have to replace the donation forms anyway.. Techsoup has adobe donations of just about every software package except for coldfusion.. anyone know why? If you cannot afford to Upgrade CF then I would suggest switching to Railo. the problem with sticking with an old version of CF is that you are vulnerable to all these recent hacks and any future ones as CF8 will not be getting anew new security hotfixes. Ugh, another Google product bites the dust. They are killing Postini as well and we have several thousand customers to migrate to another product by the end of the year. W. PayPal now has a Rest Api that seems pretty straight forward. Now if they would just buy the IRS and get rid of that. thank you for all your suggestions folks, like I mentioned this was developed before the time of CFMAP on CF 7, anyway I found out what the problem was. The JS array for the addresses to work correctly must be populated like this: var addresses = ['town1,postcode1','town2,postcode2','town3,postcode3']; which all comes from a DB table admin updates, untiladmin accidentally entered an apostrophe within an address name so it was like ['town1,post'code1'] so JS couldn't process it correctly. Sorry - not cfsetting, but cfajaximport. But normally you would set it in App.cfc and be done with it. If you aren't using the cfmap tags and just using the google API directly, the latest version (3) does not use an API key. However, cfmap requires it and if you changed the domain, it won't work. You will need to go to the version 2 api and generate a key. I wish CF would update the cfmap code to the version 3 api. JD, In my experience, the image functions generally want an extension for the input so the image libraries know how to handle the image. Since the URL doesn't have a ".png" in the filename, I think that's the problem. The one headache I have with them is that AFAIK there's no "pingback" option when a scheduled payment fails...they just send you an email, so I have to use that emailed information and do some manual stuff in my application. The second is CIM - where AN holds onto the CC info and you can charge against it using the API. So I ran into another issue with the API once I got it pulling real data in the production environment. I'm trying to pull out Impressions, Cost, CPC, CPM, etc... When I get the data back it shows cost as 1691 instead of 16.91. How am I supposed to know that it's not 169.10 and not 16.91? I must have missed something pretty simple here? This is a constant problem with the adWords API - if you are trying to get the prior day's data, then you have to decide when you want to try and pull the data, and then hope for the best. There are no API calls in adWords (like there are in Yahoo's API) to find out when the data is ready to pull. What we do for the daily performance numbers is to setup a scheduled report on the AdWords GUI, and have it emailed to us. We have a CF task that monitor's the inbox used for the purpose, and unloads the incoming files for processing. That way Google is in control of determining when to send the data. The process you described is that of the V13 release of the AdWords API. They have recently released the V2010 Beta of the reporting service, and life is much simpler, although they have not yet moved all of the V13 reporting functionality to V2010 (and some of the old functionality is probably going to be left to die on the vine). In V2010, there are only 2 required steps (3 if you do the validate, but that was an optional step in V13 as well): 1. Define the report job - this is a SOAP call where you specify the account, type of report, date range, and data items desired. This just defines the report, it doesn't run the report 2. Request the report, using the job# returned from step 1. This is a REST call and has to be for the same client account for which the report was defined. It will return the actual file data of the report. The format (CSV, XML, ...) and compression (ZIP) would have been specified in the report definition in Step 1. The "wait time" that we used to have to deal with in V13 is now implicit in how long the REST call in Step 2 takes to complete, since that is when it generates the report and returns the report data. From the looks of things, and discussions on the adWords API forum/blog, you really only have to define the report once for each client, so long as you aren't using hard-coded date ranges, and then pull that same report's JOB # each day. I haven't tried that approach yet. FYI, they have not yet set a price for doing the report pull in step 2. Hopefully it will be at least as cheap as it was in V13. There is an associated API call added in V2010 to return the names of the fields that you can specify in the report definitions for each type of report. Those names are no longer in the docs, so you need to do the API call to get the data values to use on subsequent API calls. You think that would still be something that would work if I had multiple tasks setup for each client on the system? You ever run into reliability issues with the Reports coming back empty or generating an error etc? I kept reading on old threads that it wasn't very reliable, but that was from a thread in 2006 or something. And then, via the CF scheduler, we put *at least* 30 minutes between those two processes and...problem solved. Will that not work for you? Are you trying to do this in "real time" while an end-user waits for results or what? (For us, these are just nightly processes that pump data into our database.) I don't see anything obviously wrong with it either (I don't know that the missing ";" Paul pointed out would matter given that it's the last statement within a block, though I personally end every statement with a ";" as a matter of habit). I assume that something on the page is calling your load() function (it won't run by itself with just the code you shared with us). Have you tried running this in Firefox with the Firebug plugin installed and set to monitor the scripting activities on the page? Chuck, I think you may be confusing your MX records for google with the SMTP server. You are able to connect because the MX server does listen on port 25 and will respond but will not allow you to relay email through it. Your settings in CF Administrator need to be: server: smtp.gmail.com username: any user on your domain password: well you know Port: 465 Check: Enable SSL socket connections to mail server Check: Enable TLS connection to mail server Don't worry about backups because SMTP is already load balanced on their end. NOTE: Keep in mind that Google's SMTP for domains does one weird thing... it ignores the "From" and will always put in the FROM information for the account you are using to send. This is a security feature they have inacted and it is to keep down spam on their end. Basically you can't "spoof" a user by just putting whatever you want in the from. -J.J. If your smtp config (from the other thread) is right, then you are using the wrong smtp server. Change it to smtp.gmail.com. Hey, thanks for all the suggestions. I got it working kind of like Dan suggested. I created another account in Google and setup CF Admin to smtp.google.com and used the account information I created to send the mail through. It might not be the correct way, but it works and that is all I need for now. I will revisit this sometime in the future. As Kym mentioned, since you know the DNS entries for a google mail account, I am assuming you have one and have the domain configured to work with google. Also, can you send and receive email from the google web interface for the account you are trying to use in the code? Try dropping a local mail server on your server and use that to send the mail to Google, or anywhere else for that matter. We use iMS Lite (coolfusion.com) on each machine to pass the mail on and that way we can get real mail server logs that tell us what it going wrong. CF is best at sending mail to a local mail server, it does not have the error handling ability of a full-blown mail server. fckeditor doesn't show up for me either in one of my sites. haven't checked them all yet. Solved. I just downloaded and installed the latest version of fckeditor and it now works! The editor loads instantly. There was about a 2 second delay in ie!
