RE: POP/IMAP Mail server?
IMail is a nice server. Not the cheapest thing on the market but I've used it for many years and have been very happy with it. http://www.ipswitch.com -Novak -Original Message- From: Burns, John [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, January 14, 2004 11:15 AM To: CF-Talk Subject: POP/IMAP Mail server? IMail Free starter edition lets 10 users share one domain (such as @yourcompany.com). Includes all standard capabilities except the list server, nobody alias, store and forward, and peering. An optional annual service agreement may be purchased for unlimited support via e-mail and phone. http://www.ipswitch.com/products/IMail_Server/express.html JT -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, January 14, 2004 12:46 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: RE: POP/IMAP Mail server? RE: POP/IMAP Mail server?
A big 'me too' on Imail.Used by a lot of ISP's.Its most commonly touted benefit, I believe, is its almost ridiculous ease of use when you are dealing with a large number of domains and users.A full-featured solution with web mail and pretty much everything else you need. Make sure you check out the anti-spam and anti-virus add-in Declude (http://declude.com).The spam system is light-years beyond Ipswitch's Gen1 offering (I have it turned off and use Declude exclusively) and its anti-virus, when used with F-Prot Anti-Virus, is a *tiny* fraction of the cost of Ipswitch's McAfee add-in. IMS is pretty well-regarded in CF circles (http://coolfusion.com), and appears to have some newer, lower-cost alternatives. One of these days I'll probably buy IMS-SE to run my clients' CF mailings and take the load off of Imail. -- --- Matt Robertson,[EMAIL PROTECTED] MSB Designs, Inc. http://mysecretbase.com --- -- [Todays Threads] [This Message] [Subscription] [Fast Unsubscribe] [User Settings]

RE: POP/IMAP Mail server?
ArgoSoft is $80 for 10 licenses a little more if you want IMAP. The support forums are excellent. You can write your own extensions or download others at http://www.argostuff.com/ http://www.argostuff.com/ . Backup is real easy as well. I am running 71 domains with close to 500 email accounts and it only takes about 2 minutes to do an XCOPY across my network. It has a built in web mail client and will work with UebiMiau. You can create, delete and edit accounts using CFHTTTP (There is even a Custom Tag for the COM Object). Each account has separate filtering plus a built in filtering system for the whole server. Also supports ORDB, RBL and other SPAM list. I have used plenty of eMail servers including the ones mentioned here and nothing compares to ArgoSoft. The free version will stop running every 2 hours. All you need to do is tell the service to restart automatically and you max downtime would be 1 minute. There is also a program called ArgoWatcher that will restart it immediately. It's well worth looking at. Also the FTP server blows WarFTP away.
