What kind of problems are they having? I've never run into any issues. Acustomer forgetting to tell me the DB is protected is the only troubleI've had with them over the years. I did have to use ODBC socket and not Microsoft Accesswhen setting up a password-protected Access datasourcein CF Administrator. I found this out the hard way. Sothe setup does demand a bit of finesse.LauraLaura SchleeDML Associatescell 703-622-0363ofc202-685-1360--- Andy Ousterhout [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Does anyone out there who uses Access database use User name/Password Security?I have done this as an extra way to secure the information in the database and this appears to be causing hosting firms difficulties. If it provides minimal value, I may be better off removing this security. One of the services that I am using has said that no one else besides me hasevery used a .mdw security on Access. They say that it really doesn'tprovide any level of security since they have routines that can break anylevel of Access security. So, it seems as if I will need to trust serverlevel security and not expect MS Access security to add anything but trouble.Andy-Original Message-From: Laura Schlee [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]Sent: Friday, September 26, 2003 12:14 PMTo: CF-TalkSubject: Re: Using User Names and Password security with Access DatabasesI did have to use ODBC socket and not Microsoft Accesswhen setting up a password-protected Access datasourcein CF Administrator.
