RE: 2 instances of Studio

2000-11-15 Thread Scott, Andrew

The best way to take advantage of your dual monitor setup is develop like I
do... Monitor one holds the coding, which is right in front of me. Monitor
two, shows the browser which is just to the right of me. This I find saves
me more time than having two copies of studio running.

Hello,

Does anybody know how I can I have two CF Studio Windows open at the same
time? I'd love to take advantage of my duel monitor setup. Thanks!

That only works if the value is 0 not "No" :)

There is a way to do this by making a registry edit. I asked on the forums
and there was an answer so I suggest looking there.

Tried it but it did not seem to affect the gig of ram on the machine even
with 30 instances of CF Studioi 45 up. I guess CFstu is really only top
heavy if your using ram that was standard when they invented CFstu. May be
time for an upgrade..

It's very kludge, but if you have copies of 4.0 and 4.5, install both,
and run each version in a separate window.

Think that's annoying, you can't even have say JRun Studio and CF Studio
open at the same time either.

Create a new string value name AllowMultipleInstances.

Set the value to 1.

OK, I run a dual monitor setup and you can't have 2 open, and the split is
always vertical

CFStudio is way too resource heavy to have 2 open, so you wouldn't want
to do that

What I use mine for is to have the Browser on one screen and CFS on the
other

> PS I don't know how to have two up! Would be nice to be able to split

You can't, and since you can't un-maximise the files, you can't display 2 at
a time...
Slightly annoying, but Ctrl+Tab isn't too difficult to swap between files...
