I know it's funny. I haven't found anyone on here so far who uses it.

I''m thinking the way to go now is AIR.

Re: Anyone using coral Coral Web Builder

Is anyone actually using Coral for this type of application I have described?
Is there anyone from PCA Online or Coral Web builder who can answer these
questions?

I saw on the website that as of version 2.0 for Coral, CFC's are supported.

I'm looking for confirmation of this from PCA and any further documentation
they have on this (as the online support is constantly under construction).

Hope someone can help from PCA or the community.

Thanks

Gert, I sent an email to you guys yesterday asking if Railo can be packaged up
like Coral. Can it? (Not on CD, but installed/setup locally as an app in an
easy manner like Coral says it can, not resource heavy either.)

Exact same for me. A local app using a browser.

Possible Gert? If just another cf server, then the customer would need a
webserver and such as well, no?

Is there anyone who has ever used Coral? Does it not support cfcs?

Re: Anyone using coral Coral Web Builder

Gert,

I'm currently reviewing all CFML runtimes. I need something that is easy to
deploy for the end user and to be used on Windows platforms. As this will be a
business application I think Railo community edition does not suit my needs.

I will be looking to build a browser based solution using some AJAX, CFC's and
a DB, those are the key factors for me.

Thanks

Re: Anyone using coral Coral Web Builder

2007-04-17 Thread Neil Smith
Hi,

I see this post is about Coral Web builder and I've just recently started
investigating using this for a piece of business software that I need to
develop for a client. I have a couple of questions that people might be able to
answer..

1. Is this product still supported?
2. Has anybody ever deployed a business app using Coral Builder?
3. Should I be looking at FLEX frontend instead of an AJAX frontend with Coral?

Any help would be great

Thanks

In fact we just made such an application for a customer of ours. It
starts Railo 1.1 from CD and allows him to use the application server

I kinda gave up on this for a spell. I had plans for world domination with a
run from the CD app but I've been way to lazy to do any work with it. I'm
thinking Apollo will work better for what I had planed anyway so it might be
a good thing I'm such a slacker. I want people to be able to use the
application locally and update a central server when they are online. Coral
Web Builder looked like it can manage this type of thing, as well Apollo is
got those type of hooks. I liked what I saw in Apollo when Forta talked
about at cfexpress in NYC earlier this year.

Hi Rick,
Nope, your the first to respond.

I'm thinking of using Coral Web Builder in a scenario where my bundled
application is installed on a PC - When the user is offline information is
stored in a local access database, then when they are connected to the net,
that information is uploaded to the web database.

I'm shooting to get this project done by March 14th so I can showcase this
app. at the USOPEN Snowboarding Championships at Stratton Mountain Resort.
If you haven't been to the open yet, it's off the hook you should go!

Since Web Builder can run from CD I could toss them out like stickers. LOL

RE: Anyone using coral Coral Web Builder

2006-01-05 Thread Rick Faircloth
Hi, Casey...

Has anyone ever resonded about Coral Web Builder to you?
I went to the site and it does look intriguing.

There have been many discussions on this list about the
ability to deploy CF apps with having to install CF server.

Coral Web Builder looks like a great solution...only cost
is a one-time developer license for $225.

Can this thing take the place of Cold Fusion Server for
those of us building and hosting websites on CF server, too?

I'm building my second application to be used primarily
as a business app. The first one had to buy an entire server,
and the second is hosting his office application on my server.

What are your (or anyone else's) thoughts on this?

Rick
