Thanks Rick but I've already installed the package.

Now I just have to learn how to use it... and Windows 8.

BTW, does anyone know how to toggle back from fullscreen in the IE8 browser?
F11 doesn't work in Windows 8 as it did in XP. :-P

Thanks anyway.

You can CTRL+SHIFT+P on any screen. If you are seeing other menu items show
up but not Package Control then it sounds like Package Control didn't get
installed into Sublime Text 2 properly.

I think I remember that the instructions tell you to restart Sublime Text 2
after the Package Control instal completes. Did you do that?

Re: Sublime Text 2

Yes, I did.

What's more, I downloaded it twice because the first time I didn't Save as
I merely saved, expecting it to be saved in the Installed Packages folder
but it didn't. The second time, I did direct it to that folder and I see it
there. However, Ctrl+shift+P opens the list with a lot of items but nothing
to install.

This program may be too advanced for me.

You could always try this:

It's a video about installing the package control properly and install a
language highlighting package.

I worked along with the video and just typed coldfusion when he does blade!

Well, it's entirely possible I'm missing a step somewhere. Part of the
problem is that I'm trying to install this on a new laptop and having my
first encounter with Windows 8 which is like starting all over again, my
first time on any computer back in 1995... it's all alien.

So, I've printed out the messages and I'm going to check off each step as I
do it.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks so much for your help.

Re: Sublime Text 2

2013-03-28 Thread dave

Okay, I finally recognized the apostrophe after the Ctrl+, as in Ctrl+'. The
Envy dv7 has a high def screen and even at 17.3 inches, 1080 makes for
minute little specs that can easily be mistaken for one fourth of a half of
a dust mite. (Sort of like of Dave Barry's explanation of electricity:
Electricity is actually made up of extremely tiny particles called
electrons, that you cannot see with the naked eye unless you have been
drinking.)

Anyway, it worked and I have it installed. Thank you very much.
