RE: Slightly OT....HTML question
How is the data linked in the background?.using a db? At the moment I have done something similar in that the user select a letter from one drop down box and then the other is populated with all of the entries starting with that letter. The only problem is the page gets re-loaded each time. Are you saying that these tags do this without reloading the page? i.e. All the results are loaded at first and then the Java script picks out the relevant ones? -- Andrew Ewings Project Manager Thoughtbubble Ltd http://www.thoughtbubble.net -- United Kingdom http://www.thoughtbubble.co.uk/ Tel: +44 (0) 20 7387 8890 -- New Zealand http://www.thoughtbubble.co.nz/ Tel: +64 (0) 9 419 4235 -- The information in this email and in any attachments is confidential and intended solely for the attention and use of the named addressee(s). Re: Slightly OT HTML question
Maybe this is too complicated, but I would keep the original file names, and put it in a directory named '149284.' Although, if you don't want to try that approach you may want to link to another CFM page that renames the file and then links to it, either using javascript or a cflocation. Slightly OT HTML question
Hello- I know this is slightly off topic, but it is related to HTML, so here it goes: I keep an archive of files. A user uploads a file ("MyFile.doc") and it gets dumped into a directory for storage. It gets renamed to a unique name ("149284.doc") for storage, and the original filename is stored in the database. Now the user wants to download the file. I can make a link to the file, but it would be downloaded with the numeric name. Is there any way to somehow "dynamically" rename the file so that the user doesn't have to rename it manually? Thanks!
