[cfaussie] Re: Page size from server

2006-06-08 Thread murrah

Hi,

Thanks for the responses which give me other options for optimising.

I found a program called Net Meter

http://www.hootech.com/NetMeter/

which monitors the net connection. It has a stopwatch function and
report. Click Start, then browse the page in question then click Stop
when the page has loaded. It tells you the total bytes downloaded and
the download rate. The total bytes was what I was after.

Cheers,
Murray

You can find CFUnit at http://cfunit.sourceforge.net/

It appears to be an updated (?) version of the DRK 3 CFUnit.

There are some articles about using it listed here -

Also, CFUnit can be used with Ant -

 [EMAIL PROTECTED] 09/06/2006 11:22 am

Hi, All
I got a very strange error when i use cfqueryparam in cfquery. the
code is the following:
cfquery name=getClient datasource=#dsn#
SELECT TOP 1 *
FROM clients
WHERE client_id = cfqueryparam cfsqltype=cf_sql_integer
value=#session.client_id#
/cfquery

But the following code will run:
cfquery name=getClient datasource=#dsn# maxrows=1
SELECT *
FROM clients
WHERE client_id = cfqueryparam cfsqltype=cf_sql_integer
value=#session.client_id#
/cfquery
AND the following code will run as well
cfquery name=getClient datasource=#dsn# maxrows=1
SELECT TOP 1 *
FROM clients
WHERE client_id = cfqueryparam cfsqltype=cf_sql_bigint
value=#session.client_id#
/cfquery

in clients table, client_id column is integer.
Please does anyone have any idea about it? Thanks in advance!

[cfaussie] Re: Currency conversion webservice

2006-06-08 Thread Charlie Arehart

Nope. Not working for me, either. Tried from both CFMX and
BlueDragon and got 502 proxy errors (after over a couple minutes wait). It does
indeed appear that something's amiss at that server.

For anyone interested in whether the call was correct, the
first thing to do whenever one is having trouble with web services is to browse
the WSDL that's returned from the URL being queried. InRod's case,
that's:

http://www.xmethods.net/sd/CurrencyExchangeService.wsdl

Then you can confirm a) that it's a value URL at all (which
it is in this case) and b) whether the methods and properties used (getRate,
country1, and country2 in his example) are valid (and in his case, they are). Of
course, you can't know from the WSDL whether the values for the properties are
valid, but let's assume they are from the docs. Anyway, something is amiss on
that server. Too bad, as those xmethods.net examples are often used in
examples.

As an aside, I'll add that I'll be speaking on CFML web
services (creating and consuming), in both beginner and intermediate levels, at
the CFUnited conference at the end of this month, for any making it up. Long way
from Oz, I'll grant! We'll have a stubby for ya'll. :-) No VB, Carlton, or
Toohey's to be had easily in DC, sadly.

 Hi,

You have to call a function to write the flash from script (this was
 adapted from macromedia's solution).

 snip nifty js

 Then, use it as follows

 -
 head
   script language=javascript src=scripts/flash.js /
 /head
 body

 script language=javascript
createFlash (movie, width, height, flashVars, allowscale,
 allowtransparent)
 /script
 -

Now I'm just being too helpful

 joel

Of course you'll want to add the 'standard' version in a noscript tag
below this. Folks without js enabled will get the notification in IE,
but that seems unavoidable.

Don't have it handy, but one of the guys here started work on some JS
that looped over embed tags within noscript tags and automatically did
the equivalent of your createFlash() call. The approach showed a lot of
promise.
