JSON and REST are two separate things, JSON being commonly used to pass
data to clients like browsers, CF does that well. REST is a way of
talking to servers using simple HTTP commands so CF does that as well! :-)

Google on:

REST with coldfusion cfml -rest of

lots of good hits...

RE: [cfaussie] Sessions problem with IE8

2010-10-25 Thread KNOTT, Brian
Found a way to fix this. If I pass the CFID and CFTOKEN on the URL then it is
able to keep the session variables.

form name=testform action=page2.cfm?CFID=#CFIF#CFTOKEN=#CFTOKEN#
method=post

I did think these parameters where pass on the URL anyway, but not from inside
this framset.

Its all to do with click-jacking and the IE8 security now does not allow
X-site stuff on almost anything so legit frameset stuff is no longer.
Apparently the clubsonline stuff does not use sessions very much so they
worked around it until they had time to fix. Guess who just got

[cfaussie] Sessions problem with IE8

2010-10-24 Thread KNOTT, Brian
Guys,
Got a session issue with IE 8 but only when its inside a frame
set. The customer wants to put the site in a vanity URL. Its just a frame at
100% from there site. With IE8 it does not seem to retain session variables
from page to page. I can set some session variables on the first page and then
then use a form to move to the second page. On the second page the session
variables no longer exist. Outside the frameset the site works fine. The site
also work fine in firefox , in both the framed and unframed site.

I am dumping the CFID and CFTOKEN on each page and in IE these are changing.
It there a way to let IE know that the session is the same. My cfapplication
tag is as below

cfapplication name=testsite clientmanagent=yes sessionmanagement=yes
setclientcookies=yes setdomaincookies=yes

RE: [cfaussie] Sessions problem with IE8

2010-10-24 Thread KNOTT, Brian
I done up some dummy pages. If you go to http://www.jbk.com.au/test.html it
will open a frameset, showing you a dump of the session variables and the CFID
and CFTOKEN. This is page http://www.fx4you.info/australia/test/page1.cfm .

Page 1
CFID-1098982
CFTOKEN-48951408

If you click on the submit button you are take to page 2
(http://www.fx4you.info/australia/test/page2.cfm ). On my version of IE 8,
and I have tried a few, the CFID and CFTOKEN values have changed, thus so has
the session variables.

Page2
CFID-1116543
CFTOKEN-68070290

Do you get the same thing.

we have hundreds of these little template sites, all work fine. So if

Why don't you just do it with a normal submit button and style it to use the
image?

input type=submit name=step3submit value=continue style=border:none;
background:url(image.gif) /

That way you can still use the image but submit it properly

Guys I using images as buttons to submit form. Bit like the code below

input type=image src=image.gif name=step3Submit value=continue

I would normally then refer to the form field in the next page i.e. cfset
variables.function = form.step3Submit

This works fine in firefox but in IE it send through the x and y co-ords of the
image, i.e form.step3Submitx = 56.

Is there a way to get IE to pass the form value i.e. form.step3submit should

You do if using a function.

Or if not

Onclick=javascript:submit(); return false; if we want to be padantic about
the guidelines for W3C then the javascript should be included.

[cfaussie] Hiding table rows

2010-10-05 Thread KNOTT, Brian
Guys looking at hiding and showing table rows via a link. Some basic
(untested) code below.

table
tr
tda href=#click here to hide/show/a/td
/tr
tr class=hiderow
tdthis row needs to show once the above is clicked/td
/tr
/table

Css file

.hiderow {
Display:none;
}

.showrow {
Display:Block;
}

The row is hidden when the page is loaded because of the style applied. I
don't know how to reference the row in the table via CSS. I also know that I
need to be able to click he link to hide the row also, so I think I will need
to JavaScript to toggle the state. Does anyone have some easy to understand

So use tr id=hiderow

Just one issue. If I start with setting the display:none via a class it does

Been asked if I can create expose part of a web site through

You can, it's certainly possible.

I would debate the fact that it's taking over from XML and SOAP though.
Different technologies for different use cases.

Cheers

Hi Guys,
Been asked if I can create expose part of a web site through
the JSON/REST technology instead on XML. Has anyone done this with CF, is it
even possible. I not familiar with this technology but from what I have read
its going to take over from XML and SOAP.

RE: [cfaussie] cfmamil problem

2010-04-15 Thread KNOTT, Brian
Scott,
Have a look in the mail error log. It will tell you why what emails
are failing and why. You may have to increase your level of error capture if
no log exists or there is not enough details. Stick the failed emails back in
the spool folder, let them run through and check the error log (cfadmin
interface).

I have a bunch of unprocessed mail in the C:\CFusionMX\Mail\Spool directory (

I have verified the mail connection in the cf admin.

mail can be sent from telnet on the server.

our server admins say that all looks okay their end on the postoffice etc.

my question is, what is going wrong, and, what can I do to fix it?

Alternatively, you can ensure that all cfmail tags have a server attribute. In

Easiest way in my mind -

delim = ;#;
split = line.split(delim);
newline = split[1]  delim  split[3]  delim  split[4]

But it kinda depends what you are doing.

[cfaussie] XML Import Issue

2009-07-21 Thread KNOTT, Brian
Hi guys.

Got an XML import issue. I am trying to import an XML file but I'm having
issues with some nodes not being defined in the XML. For example the node
'duration' may not be define for every record in the XML file. So I need to
check to see if the node exists before I reference it, if it does not exist
then I want to set it as null. I have tried isdefined and few other but can't
seem to get the correct terminology. Code sample below

cffile action=read file=d:\Data\wwwroot\misd\XML\modelbuildparms.xml
variable=xmlfile

cfscript
xmlfile = trim(xmlfile);
xmlfile = xmlparse(xmlfile);

xmlsize =
xmlfile.body.GetListItemsResponse.GetListItemsResult.listitems.data.XmlAttributes.ItemCount;

xmlqry = QueryNew(Title, ModelPath, ModelEmailString, CubePublishPath,
PPESPublishPath, ModelUserSecurity, ModelBuildExtraCommandsPre,
ModelBuildExtraCommandsPost, BuildLevel, BusinessName, Duration, Keywords,
NotifyStatus, MajorGrouping, MinorGrouping, ModelLabel, Frequency, Status,
PrimaryMDC, ItemType, Path, UpdateTimeStamp, CreatedBy, ModifiedBy, Created,
Modified, ID);
QueryAddRow(xmlqry,100);

for (a=1; a LTE 1; a=a+1) {
QuerySetCell(xmlqry,title,
xmlfile.body.GetListItemsResponse.GetListItemsResult.listitems.data.row[a].XmlAttributes.ows_Buildlevel,a);
QuerySetCell(xmlqry,ModelPath,
xmlfile.body.GetListItemsResponse.GetListItemsResult.listitems.data.row[a].XmlAttributes.ows_ModelPath,a);
)
/cfscript

In this example I need to check to see if the
'xmlfile.body.GetListItemsResponse.GetListItemsResult.listitems.data.row[a].XmlAttributes.ows_Buildlevel'
 node exists before I reference it.

Thanks

Just regular old structKeyExists should do it for you.

 ws_Buildlevel)
 )
{

Hi Brian

queryInMomory (sic: momery?) has multiple rows, yes?

if so, anything wrong with a loop over the in-memory query doing
individual db inserts for each loop iteration?

the thing to keep in mind is that the in-memory query is nothing more
than a CF memory data structure, not a db query, view or table.
basically a struct of arrays.

in other words, two different layers, you need to take the data out
of the CF layer (in-memory query) and put it into the db layer
(inserts into db tables)

just a thought

[cfaussie] Dreamweaver and templates

2008-10-29 Thread KNOTT, Brian
Ok this is any easy question and I figure its quicker to post it here than to
look it up.

I have created a template in DW CS3, all lovely. Problem is when I create a
file from the template in a directory below the first file, all the link are
broken. So all the images are in a folder called images, but If I creates a
file in a folder called secure which is on the same level, the images still
point to images and not ..\images.

I have found more success using relative to site root not relative
to document in the site definition. I know they should both work,
but i am always getting errors counting dots and slashes wiht relative
positioning. Using site root means all those links go from the
root and it doesnt matter if you move things around so much.

(yes i do know that DW will update those too if you want, but I dont
really like relying on dreamweaver's code-writing ability)

 You don't necessarily have to do it in that order - you can create a
 new file from a template - but if the links are correct relative to
 the /Templates folder, when you save the file the links will update to
 the location of the new file.

[cfaussie] Dynamic Query

2008-08-19 Thread KNOTT, Brian
I have a stored proc that returns a query. Problem is I don't know what
columns are retutned.

I can use qryReport.getColumnList() to get me a list of columns that are
returned.

I can display these in a table with the following code

cfset list.qryResults.columns = arrayToList(qryReport.getColumnList())
cfset variables.Querycolumns = arraynew(1)
cfset variables.Querycolumns = listtoarray(list.qryResults.columns )
cfdump var=#variables.Querycolumns#
!--- table to display results ---
table
!--- header ---
tr class=tableStyle1
cfloop from=1 to=#arraylen(variables.Querycolumns)#
index=counter
th class=tableStyle1

cfoutput#variables.Querycolumns[counter]#/cfoutput
/th
/cfloop
/tr

My problem is that I can not seem to use this array to dump the query results.
This code is below

cfoutput query=qryReport
tr class=tableStyle1
cfloop from=1
to=#arraylen(variables.Querycolumns)#  index=counter
td colspan=tableStyle1

#qryReport['variables.Querycolmns[#counter#]']#
/td
/cfloop
/tr
/cfoutput

This query returns an error [EMAIL PROTECTED] ] is not indexable by
variables.Querycolmns[1]

Any Ideas??

Thanks

[cfaussie] Re: CF702 - cfquery caching

2008-04-07 Thread KNOTT, Brian
Just create 2 separate queries with cfif tags around them. It means you will
have 2 separate queries but its easier to understand.

e.g.

cfif date is last month

cfquery name-blah cachewithin ...

/cfquery

cfelse

!--- this month query -à

cfquery name-blah cachewithin ...

/cfquery

/cfif

Thanks

Subject: [cfaussie] CF702 - cfquery caching

Hi Fusioneers,

I have an SQL I would like to cache, but have two strategies depending on the
parameters

If the parameters are for the current month, I only want to cache the query for
1 day
If it is for a past month, I want to start the caching from after the last day
of that month

cfquery has two attributes to do this
- cachedwithin
- cachedafter

So I thought I would do this, but it looks like CF does not like the CFIF
inside the cfquery tag
cfset rptDate = CreateDate(URL.year, URL.month, DaysInMonth(Now())) /

cfquery name=qryStatsByMonth
 datasource=#APPLICATION.DataSourceMain#
cfif DateDiff('m', rptDate, Now()) EQ 0
  cachedwithin=#CreateTimeSpan(1,0,0,0)#
cfelse
   cachedafter=#rptDate#
/cfif

Any ideas how I can do this?

For now, I will put the cfif on the outside and have two cfqueries.
Guess this is not a bad way of doing it, just thought it would be neat if it
could be done with one query.

I suppose I could grab the original disk, but then I'd need to find

So can anyone point me to the Adobe URL for downloading 7? is it

Hey, maybe I can use this as an excuse to force the upgrade.
Gee sorry boss, but V7 is now unavailable/unstable/unusable/

Got a weird problem. If I try to open a file through SQL server
enterprise manager the file list is never in order, I must be ordered by
date or something. I can right click and do an arrange by name and that
reorders it but I have to do this for every directory I go into. Once
I close the box and try to open another file I have the same problem.
It does not seem to remember what order to show the file in.

If I just use the file explorer its fine.

Hi Guys,
Just a quick note to let you guys know that we at the Adobe Australia
office haven't forgotten about you, and do monitor this (and several
other) lists on a regular basis.

We have a couple of Community related irons in the fire and will
communicate more on them as they solidify.

What would be of great help to us in the meantime would be a hands up
(head count) on how many Aussie CF'ers are reading this list on a
regular basis. If you could just ping a response to to this thread that
would be grouse.

Thanks in advance

Grant,

That is fantastic and I would love to send some staff on this course.

However it really just isn't a good time for us.

But please if you plan on doing something similar again I would be
interested.

PS: If you want to do one in Melbourne it would be more affordable for
us and I could send more people. I'm sure you would have no trouble
filling a session in Melbourne.

PS: If you have rates on doing in house training, send them my way.

Dates are only ordered one of two ways, ascending or

So if you do something like

Select *

From  TableName

Where DateFiled
between 2005-07-01 and 2006-06-30

Order By DateField

That will do the trick, but its not ordering its
the Where bit your after.

Hi,

when I wish to do crazy stuff like this, I add to the database a table I
created a few years back, each row contains (from about 1995 to 2015)
the date, week, the finiancial year, the financial quarter and so on.

I simply join on this table and output the required cell, sorted by the
date.

eg a sample row

2015-06-30 00:00:00.000,2015,   2015-Q2,2015-06/June,
2015-W27,   Tuesday,FY14/15,FY14/15-Q4,
FY14/15-12/JUNE,FY14/15-W53.

beats having to write function each time I run a query.

(I am hoping I am long gone by 2015 :-) )

It's unclear what you're trying to do. I'm assuming you want to group
the data by financial year.

If that's the case, and you didn't say which database you're using,
write an expression that yields a number for the financial year, say
2005 for the 2005/2006 financial year:-

 case
 when month(d) 7 then year(d)-1
 else year(d)
 endcase

give it a name and then sort and group by it.

Does this help?

Hi Brian,

Do you want to put image
inside the message or as an attachment?

Here is a quote from
official CFMX7 online documentation:

Including
images in a message

You can
use the cfmailparam to include images
from other files in an HTML message, as follows:

 Put a cfmailparam
 tag for each image following the cfmail start tag.
 In each cfmailparam
 tag, do the following

  Set the file
  attribute to the location of the image.
  Specify disposition=inline
  Set the contentID
  attribute to a unique identifier; for example, myImage1.

 In the location in your HTML where you want the
 message included, use an img
 tag such as the following:

4. img src="">

The
following example shows a simple mail message with an inline image. In this
case, the image is located between paragraphs, but you could include it
directly inline with the text. To test this example, replace the cfmail
to
parameter with a valid email address and change the file
parameter to the path to a valid image.

cfmail type=HTML to = [EMAIL PROTECTED] from = [EMAIL PROTECTED] subject = Sample inline image cfmailparam file=C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\web.gif disposition=inline contentID=image1 PThere should be an image here/p img src=""> p This text follows the picture/p/cfmail
