[cfaussie] Re: CFMAIL Maintenance

2007-07-17 Thread mpicker

Hi Scott,

Please see below a cfm page we run as a schedule every night to deal
with undeliverable mails.

What this script does is each night move the undeliverable emails back
to the spool to try and deliver them (just in case it was network,
server etc issues that stopped it from being delivered). Once the
emails get past a week old and still can't be delivered it moves them
into a permanently rejected folder and will stop trying to send. You
can then delete them.

It will also send you an email letting you know how many emails have
been sent/moved etc.

I didn't write this script (but did modify it), however I don't know
where I got it from to create the original author.

Regards,
Mark Picker

Sorry, when I said "to create the original author" I meant " to credit
the original author". I also realised I posted the unmodified script,
but that was probably for best anyway. 

I have a feeling I got the script from one of Ben Forta's books.

Cheers
Mark

[cfaussie] Re: JB-HI Moving to dotnet

2010-05-26 Thread mpicker
@Justin

We still haven't been able to fill your web developer position (for
those playing at home, Justin left here years ago), despite 3 or 4
rounds of advertising. We only just finished another round.

So I'm guessing no chance that you will be coming back to Dubbo?

Of the small number of Institutes/departments using CF in our
organisation (NSW Department of Education and Training) more and more
are slowly removing CF, mostly due to the lack of developers, but also
because most managers aren't aware of what it is and what it can do.
Microsoft do a lot to promote their technology to us, while Adobe
(appear) to do stuff all, especially when it comes to CF.

We signed a multi million $ Enterprise Agreement with Adobe last year
and CF was left out of it. If Adobe Australia was serious about CF
they would have pushed for CF to be included in the EA.

Cheers
Mark

[cfaussie] Re: Search engines seeing bad URLs

2010-07-19 Thread mpicker
Yep, I've seen that.

I've got a similar setup to you, in that I have the site email when
spiders are on the site and send me what they are looking for. It
also emails when a spider hits old URL's that are getting redirected
to my redirect handler.

I've noticed that the MSNbot seems to get into a loop with the
ampersands sometimes, so instead of looking for /colleges it goes
looking for

/colleges&
/colleges&&
/colleges&&&
/colleges
/colleges&

etc

The Googlebot sometimes adds repeats of folders so that what should
be:

/industries/business-finance-and-property-services/courses/course-
details

ends up being

/industries/business-finance-and-property-services/courses/courses/
courses/courses/course-details.

I'm assuming the problem is due to something not being correct with my
RegEx in IIRF and then something else wrong with certain cases in the
redirect handler.

However I haven't had the time to work out what is going wrong, and
despite the problems, the pages that the spiders are initially looking
for (e.g. /colleges) are getting indexed.

It's on my growing to-do list :(

Do you use any URL rewriters on your site? Is there a particular bot
that is causing a problem?

Cheers
Mark

Would GST even be applicable? The product is considered a US product
which shouldn’t get hit with GST under the free trade agreement. Same
deal when purchasing an online version….

I have had this issue before with an earlier version of Eclipse (when
using files on a network share). I found as soon as I turned Build
Automatically off (default is on) the problem went away. Project ->
Build Automatically

[cfaussie] Re: ColdFusion Builder 2 Hotfix

2011-07-20 Thread mpicker
Don't you mean $30 + whatever your soul is worth? :) Plus my MacBook
is keeping my feet warm (not the greatest foot rest but it's ok).

CFBuilder patch screwed up on my Aptana 3 install. It reset the
default editor for CF files and wouldn't allow me to fix it. Also
made a mess of the CF perspective. I uninstalled the patch and
everything started working again.

When I checked the patch installer log I had no errors but one
warning:

Get Registry Entry: Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node
\Adobe\Install Data\Adobe ColdFusion Builder 2\2.0.0
  Value Name: InstallDir
  Status: WARNING
  Additional Notes: WARNING - Win32Exception

Other than that one warning everything was showing a status of
Successful.

I will wait until there is a proper update/service pack rather than a
hotfix as I've only recently finished installing everything (new PC)
and don't want to screw anything up.

Cheers
Mark
