Hey guys, I finally got around to joining back up to the lists. I moved
recently and changed from AOL to cable, so sorry if any of you e-mailed me
at my former address and did not get a reply. I am looking forward to
everyones opinions and advice about this obsession with Chevelles we all

Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List

Found a couple of N.O.S. pieces at one of the local swap meets yesterday.
Thought maybe someone here could help identify the application(s).

Rear Defroster Adapter #987248 Gr. 9.778 - box is marked 68 Chev.

Hose Radiator Lower #3827366

Also, anyone have a 7 blade clutch fan (fan only) for a '68 BB Chevelle ?
Bolt hole spacing is 3 diameter center-to-center. Must be in good shape.
Have more info if you need help identifying yours.

Thanks,

Kent

Why is the old guys always like to pick on me? When I first started at my
job (If I haven't told you guys I am now an official part time AutoZoner)
the old guy (I call him Pops, Granpa, Ol' Man, whatever pops out of my
mouth, known him for quite awhile he has always helped out when I would come
in to the stores he has worked at, BTW he's only about 50) dialed the shops
number and let it ring, he picked up the phone and did a Yeah, uh huh, um
hmm, Ok, hang on just a sec. Then he asked me to look up a set of brake
pads for an 83 Corvette (I'm really not a 'vette person, they're fun to look
at, but there is no way I could insure one, too young and not married). So
stupid me gets on the computer and I look and look and look, guess what
everybody was doing while I was looking? Laughing. Finally I gave up and
said I couldn't find anything for an 83 vette, and for good reason, they
didn't make one!!! I didn't take your joke to heart, I just wanted to make
myself clear, I have a lot of fun out of you guys too, thats why I like this
list, its just flat out fun. BTW I do run HEI on my car, but I'm thinking
of going ahead and switching out the distributer since its' origins are
questionable.

I changed an oil pump on my 67 SS with the engine still in the car. To do
it, I had to unbolt the headers, drop the trans, drain the cooling system,
and on and on. Unless you have an A/C car AND have to open the system to
get the engine out, you are miles ahead by just biting the bullet and
pulling the engine out. At least then you can do some of the work standing
up.

Any one tried to do one in the car?
I dont think you can take out the pan without lifting
the block.
Cant find any tech articles about it either.

That's not true. In fact, just the opposite is true. They made precisely
one. It was a prototype of the 84, but it was indeed badged as an 83.

[Chevelle-List] brake pedal problem

2001-09-10 Thread Toothyfrk
Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone else has had a similiar problem and can
offer any possible solutions. My 72 chevelle brake pedal doesnt always come
back up after being pressed, resulting in my brake lights staying on. I took
the car to a shop and they made some adjustments that seemed to help, but as
luck would have it the problem is back. Since this car is my daily driver-my
only car, i won't be able to get it back in the shop anytime soon. Does
anyone have any ideas on how i can possibly solve this problem?

thank you all in advance!!

Chris,
There is a spring at the top of the brake pedal bracket that is supposed to
pull the pedal back. Is yours missing or broken?

[Chevelle-List] Going price for a used SuperFlow 110 flow bench?

I have a chance to purchase a used SuperFlow 110 flow bench that is complete
with the adaptors for both small and big block Chevy's. The asking price is
$1200. Has anyone seen one of these for sale recently and if so what is the
current going price for them. I do know that the unit is in good shape and
it is from a reputable person that will help me get started with it.

Some years back at a show at Turner Falls, OK, a guy from Texas
(I think) had a 67 Elky that was not sported a chopped top but
the bed was shortened about a foot to keep the cars proportions.
It wasn't finished (needed paint and interior) but all glass fit
good and tight and even retained the vent wings. Looked pretty
good even then. I've got an old video tape of it somewhere
around the house. Wish I knew where it was now. I'd like to see
if it ever got finished.
