The tags are sequenced numbered throught the state. The tag # they gave her is 66396. Now I guess I'll have to start looking for a big block?? Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List Geoff, I also have a 65 and I am using a 2.5 turn steering box from AGR co. thru Summit. They are $329, but all rebuilt. Use a pitman arm from any 64-72 with power steering. You can use a box from an 84-87 Monte Carlo. It`s a bolt in { use the early pitman arm} and many have the F41 2.5 turn steering box. It has been register every year with the black plates, so they are legal plates they just look like Cr*p. :) -Original Message-From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Clint HooperSent: Monday, December 10, 2001 1:16 PMTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Subject: Re: [Chevelle-List] Black cal License plate There was an article this month in Super Chevy or Chevy HP magazine about black CA plates. [Chevelle-List] Steering box upgrade for '65
I am trying to put a steering box from a '95 Impala SS into my '65(along with the rest of the drivetrain) and found the pitman arm is 3/4" too long from the Impala and different splines/shaft. Is there a later model GM that might have the right shaft and length pitman arm? Any help along this line would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Geoff Nilson

Re: [Chevelle-List] Name that 67 SS Chevelle= Ideas please ?
Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List I also forgot that in the state of Maryland, if you have 2 tags from the year of your car, you can reinstate them and put them on your car, ie tags stamped 1966. A few of the members of the MCC do this with their cars. i would have done this, but I don't live in Maryland, although I am a member of the MCC. Nice here in MN, you can check to see if a name has been taken form the motor vehicles web site. Makes it easy to decide and then run down there and buy the tag. RE: [Chevelle-List] Lost keys
Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List I had the same problem when I bought my 67. Pull the lock cylinders from the drivers door and trunk ( pia to get at without key). Take the locks to any Chevy dealer. The guys in the parts department have the documentation to cut new keys from the codes. If there are no codes on the locks, you will need a locksmith to 'reverse engineer' the codes from the tumblers. The hardest part of this entire operation is finding the blanks with original style heads. Bob -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Richard M.
