RE: [Chevelle-List] Vin checker. free
Here is one place where you can find a bunch of VIN decoders listed. This page is a compilation of VIN decoders submitted from subscribers to the California Air Resources Board Automatic Notice email list. This is the list where you get notice of which cars are scheduled to be crushed. They only send Make and VINs out, so you need a decoder to know what kind of car is on the list. http://www.chucksez.com/vin_decoder.html Brad Waller ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) '66 Corvette | 327/dead | 4-speed | Wilwood Brakes | 245/45/16 BFGs '67 Chevelle | ex-SS396 | 355/700R4 | '79 F-Body Brakes > -Original Message- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Trooper > Sent: Wednesday, August 28, 2002 3:28 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: [Chevelle-List] Vin checker. free > > > Only one problem. Are you looking for carpet that exactly matches your carpet you already have or are you looking for speaker box carpet? Crutchfield sells carpet specifically for covering boxes. http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-vYEqP4mU596/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=11&g=746&I=264BLACK++ Hope that helps. [Chevelle-List] for Wayne Kline
Wayne, I read in another post you had a custom panel for behind your seat on your 65 elky. I have a 64 and would like to know how you made yours. Behind the seat on my car just doesn't look finished. It's just like something is missing and this is what I have been looking for. Thanks , Vernon
Re: [Chevelle-List] Carpet
Good Luck Herb. when I did my 65 Elky I ran into the same problem. Other then buying a new ACC carpet 99.00. I had Year One ship me two yards of the orginial type/color vinyl. It covers my custon rear of seat back cab panel. [Chevelle-List] Seat belt buckles
I recently posted a question on dying seatbelts. I would also like to clean and oil all the buckles. I don't want to experiment with them and cause damage so can anyone tell me how to dismantle the buckles. They are buckles from a 68 Chevelle. Thanks for any help... Craig
Re: [Chevelle-List] Carpet
Herb Did you try asking them for a type instead of auto carpet? Try asking if they have the loop type (in our cars), or the cut pile which is what most of the aftermarket cheapo carpet for cars is. RE: [Chevelle-List] Carpet
Most automotive carpets are supplied by only a few companies: Collins & Aikman; HP Pelzer, Reiter Automotive, Guilford Mills, and Lear Masland. My guess would be Guilford Mills but it could be any of them. I have never heard of a "distributor" that I know of - I think everyone gets their stuff directly from the manufacturers. -Original Message-From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Herbert LumppSent: Wednesday, August 28, 2002 12:48 PMTo: Chevelle ListSubject: [Chevelle-List] Carpet Can anyone suggest some places I might be able to buy some auto carpet? Disconnect and plug the hose that connects to the vacuum advance canister when setting ignition timing. Yes, it definitely sounds like you're running lean. Have you checked for vacuum leaks? I don't know how expensive vacuum hose is for you but you might want to consider fresh hoses. If the throttle blade is open too far the idle mixture screw will have little or no effect, so make sure the blade's nearly closed at idle. Brad O. > Thanks for the tip, Dan.
