Re: [Chevelle-List] '66 Chevelle remote mirror confirmation
Kurt and Rocky: yikesss out of that somehow i got that it was for the passenger door!!! well anyway what i meant was yes they made a remote for 66 CHEVELLES. the early remotes were the same as 64 and 65 CHEVELLES and the later 67 built cars were a 67 (it maybe for 68 too) only mirror. they make the later one in reproduction. i have never seen a passenger remote or a matching non remote for any chevelle. Yes, and I think the two look weird together. sorry about the mix-up. Larry (z)

Re: [Chevelle-List] swap meet
I was also off to a local swap meet today and come across people that didn't know what they had. I bought both front and rear 1968 chevelle bumpers , with brackets for $25.00 and 2 boxes of odds and ends for $20.00. Some of the parts were a complete harness from fuse block back to the tail lights and never cut, all kids of chrome goodies. Some parts were also for a 1969 chevelle. Get lucky now, Next time I'll have to pay through the nose for a part I need. RE: [Chevelle-List] master cylinder mania
Makes sense to me. He did say that these are new. The reason he is offering them cheap is because they are NOS, which means to him that they have been taking up shelf space for a long time and he hasn't sold one in years. Of course to one of us it might mean something completely different. BTW he is going through all of the inventory and soon we will have pre-bent exhaust pipes galore and tons of brake drums/rotors. His family owns 2 stores, one of which opened in 1929 and another that was originally a Pontiac dealership until his dad bought the building in the 60s and converted it to a parts store. To him these old parts are somewhat of a nuisance because they are taking up space and he doesn't get any call for them. Re: [Chevelle-List] Dic brake upgrade - new twist?
I think the rotors use the same bolt pattern. Unless the caprice you pulled the spindles from is an old cop car the rotors will work. I have an old cop car it has the 5 inch spacing. The regular duty have the 4.75 spcing just like most GM products. Jason - To Unsubscribe please visit www.chevelles.net/list.html To start a new topic, send mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[Chevelle-List] New club joins the ranks!
Title: Message Today there was a meeting held with Chevelle Enthusiasts from the areas of Southern & Western Ohio, Eastern Indiana, and Northern Kentucky. These people officially and formally voted to form a club in these areas known as "Tri-State Chevelles". We are just starting out, and have only had the Internet to recruit members from at this point, but we had 14 members in attendance and several spouses. Four very fine Chevelles in the parking lot caused a crowd of enthusiasts to gather around and chat, and we almost had to call upon the Sgt At Arms to exercise crowd control to yank the people away from the Chevelles so we could start the meeting ;) (j/k) We had a great first meeting and look forward to our first combined outing in two weeks supporting a local Toy For Tots run. We voted to attend Chevellabration 03 next year, and hope to meet up with many of you other club members there, if not at another local event. Thanks to Chuck Hansen and Presidents from several other clubs on guidance and information to get us started. Wish us luck! Cecil "Steve" Martin President, Tri-State Chevelles

I went back and re-read Kirster's message again, and I still think the original question was about the existence of a drivers side remote for 66. The passenger side mirror was never mentioned. IIRC the question was asked because a remote knob was connected to the drivers door interior panel, but the non remote mirror was on the drivers door. I do agree with (Z) though, I have never seen a *passenger* side remote for a 66. And the drivers remote are very rare. - Kurt Ehrhardt ACES #1280 66 Malibu 66 SuperSport Enfield, CT - To Unsubscribe please visit www.chevelles.net/list.html To start a new topic, send mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[Chevelle-List] Distributor Spring and weights
Does anyone know at what RPM is best for the distributor weights should start advancing. I want to hook up a RPM gauge and use my timing light to adjust when the weights should start advancing the timing and how much the total advance will be. I should be able to change distributor weight springs and see at what RPM the timing starts advancing. So how do you know what is best and how does this effect gas and horsepower.
