Wow! Thanks Herb. I go by the theory that if you take the customer's interests to heart, they will always come back. I'm in this for the long haul rather than the quick buck. A couple of days ago I emailed John Nasta inquiring about a gas tank for my Elky. He responded quickly with the info I needed. Today, I received an email from John with an eBay link for a new gas tank at nearly half price! I'm quite sure John knew he would lose a sale by sending me that link, but he did it anyway! Now that my friends, is a new high in customer service. John, next time I need resto parts, your web page will bethe first place I look. LOL. It was snowing hard this morning, but right now there is a big yellow disk in the sky. I'm not sure what it is. Maybe somebody should shoot it down. [Chevelle-List] sanding/priming
Hi guys, I want to sand and prime my 69 Chevelles body, but this is my first time attempting anything like this and I could use a little direction. I have a Black Decker Sandstorm will this get the job done? What grit sandpaper should I use? Should the body be sanded down all the way to the sheet metal, or just until it is smooth and free of any surface rust? If anyone could please shed some light on these questions by way of a website or your own experience, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance, Don 69 Chevelle Malibu
Re: [Chevelle-List] sanding/priming
I sanded my 69 down using 80 grit and a DA sander. If you want to do it right, I suggest taking it down to bare metal. Here is a link to my website, there is a link on there to my 69. Tom http://bluess454.freehomepage.com/70sshome.htm

I personally know the writer of this article (JP Huffman). My bro worked at Car Craft with him back in the 90's and still drives the car he bought from Huffman's sister awhile back...90 Civic SI hatchback. I'm sure John would be happy to know that the gearheads on this list are enjoying his writing. Kurt '64 convt.
