You will really have something when it is done. For me I am just going make
it pretty to look at but not a frame off. I guess I am extremely lucky I
bought my car in Texas. The biggest hole that had to be patched was the
size of a dime. I also had the drivers side floor replaced in front of the
seat braces do to the rubber floor mat instead of carpet causing so inside
out rusting. Someday I will take on a frame off after of course I first
build a shop to do it in. Carl

RE: [Chevelle-list] Where everyone is this weekend....

2003-09-13 Thread Cecil \"Steve\" Martin

I have a lot more to do on the frame. Why is it what makes it look good has
to be done last and all the rest of the hard work that takes hours to do,
only looks good to the guy that has it done. Sometimes the hardest work
provides the least "eye candy".

I have barely started on the body. Have the front and middle floor pan
braces replaced. That was a pain due to finding unexpected rust under each
brace at the rocker. Had to cut and weld in new metal.

Almost ready to start welding in floor pans, but that is starting to look
"less easy" than I first thought it would be as well. Have to push it down
in some spots to meet the front brace and the floor pan braces. That causes
it to move done farther than I anticipated and now have to weld back in a
sliver of some of the old metal I cut out after measuring by sitting it on
top the old pan.

On to the trunk pan replacement after the floor pans, then I can drop it on
the body and figure out what to do about the rusty quarters. I HATE SALT
!!!well ok maybe it's ok in Margaritas :)

[Chevelle-list] Where everyone is this weekend....

2003-09-13 Thread Cecil \"Steve\" Martin

This is actually a very busy weekend in the Midwest with car shows. There
were quite a few Chevelles in the Muscle Car Nationals in Louisville today.
I am also going to the Super Chevy Show in Columbus in the morning as well.
Many small ones going on all around. With summer over, people want to get
some car shows in before the winter weather back here brings the car season
to a screeching halt.

Hey guys,
Is there no traffic right now or is my new version of AOL not giving me my mail? It is the weekend afterall but I've only gotten 1 Chevelle list e-mail in the last 24 hours. Doesn't seem right to me so I thought I would check. Thanks.

Yep I
know, but I think its only the rear spring pads being different !?!?

I have a
drawing of a 1968 frame with measurements, so I could really need one of a 1964
frame to compare them.

Do you
or anyone else here have one that they could send me by mail or by fax ??
