Hi Guys,

Couldn't contain my excitement and had to share this
with someone. If you'll remember I have a 67 Chevelle 2 dr. hardtop and 2 67
Elky's under restoration. We'll the gentleman
that I had bought the 2 Elky's from passed away last week and his wife called and
told me that he would want me to have these 2 motors that he had sitting on
engine stands in the shop. We had discussed these engine before. The first was
a 375 horse 396 never been cranked and the second a 385 horse 427, that had
been run for about 30 minutes. Just went and loaded them up and
unloaded at the shop and I'm sitting here grinning from ear to ear. Got all
these horses lined up at the back door and someone has borrowed the cherry
picker. LOL!

I originally had mentioned that my brothers 1990 Caprice Classsic had a hole in its frame.Just thought Id let you know wuts going on. My parents decided to get rid of it. Instead they bought a van. The worst part is that it is purple. I guess your wonderin how old I am. I am 15 years old and love classic cars. My favorite is the '70 Chevelle SS 454 LS6. My brother is 17. He also loves classic cars. I really wish we could keep the caprice. Id love to be able to drive up to school in style. Instead I'll get laughed at cuz im driving a PURPLE VAN. WWW. My parents didnt even look into how much it would cost to repair the Caprice. Instead they payed $5000 for a '98 Plymoth Voyager. Im sure it would have cost less than $1000 to repair the frame, strengthen some weak spots, and rust proof it so it wont rust any more than it already has. Then we would still have $4000 to repair any other problems in the next few years.

There are deals on classics
still. They are around but definitely not on e-bay. My dream car was
out of reach 1970-72 Chevelle when I was 16. I did however get a 71
Cutlass S for $150 with a bad trans and radiator. With help from friends
and about $1000 in parts I really had a looker. I sold it when I got
married the first time. In 1988 I found my first 72 Chevelle for $125 in
SD. About 6 months ago I found a friend a 70 2 door Malibu for $250.
Time is my problem, with a growing family, grass to keep up and about 20 other
honey do's my current Chevelle just sits on jack stands. 13 years of
ownership I haven't driven it more than 100 miles. One thing I do know,
the value will not go down. I see decent drivers under 3K that are in
decent shape yet most being around the $1500 range.

As long as you tuck the motor
inside the door itself, the loop mechanism will fit behind the stock
panel. If you're going to replace the door panels anyway, I've
heard that replacements come with no holes at all just in case you have
factory power windows so you can cut either hole.

If you look here -
http://www.autoloc.com/detail.lasso?itemid=pw3900
- you'll see some little, what appear to be, black caps for the regulator/panel. I see they have listed again the express up/down units again for $40. I had those on both fronts of the Chevelle and they're nice.

No problem :*). Most factory power windows use a direct motor to raise/lower the x-frame like http://www.dalesplace.com/forsale/image2.jpg. This kit in my 67 hardtop is by Autoloc (Spal) and it simply slides over the existing manual mechanism. Saves a ton of time and work since the mechanism doesn't have to be removed from the door like the factory (or replacement in my link). I 'could' rework the factory handles and put them back and watch them spin around but then it'd wear out the door panel coverting AND somebody would try manually cranking them and break the unit. Another nice thing about the SPAL units is you can remove them easily, put the handle back on, and manually control the windows.

make this short I was useing por-15 on my skylark trunk and stuff, I was almost done and all of the sudden I sliped and fell kinda in the freshly painted trunk.NOW I had por 15 all over my arms and know how it does not come off AT ALLI started looks around my garage and I seen OIL EATER it is safe and bio degradable.I bought this stuff a shucks in a gallon jug,so I said what the hell I started with just putting it on and rubbing it in.. it was kinda like soap little foamy witch was nice. I let it set and put a little more on and put it on a clean rag. ALL of the sudden it just wiped OFF.. HOLY CRAP !! it works.I did not peal skin off (RAY) nothing.it came right off and no hard rubbing
I have had good success removing POR with GOJO cream and abrisk finger nail on the skin when the POR was not fully dried. The POR came off and skin got red temporarily but did not peel. You just kinda smell like GOJO though. So what's new. B-) POR is difficult to removewhen dry. I know I have some semi gloss black on my right elbow right now.

POR-15 is also isocyanate based (i.e.
cyanide). You really dont want o be breathing it in or absorbing it into your
skin. Its quite toxic.
