Nope, just

Otherwise, you have to individually e-mail them to people.  OR, you can ask Pelle nicely, and he
can add you to his Chevelle page!

I'm running 275/40/17 front tires which are 25.7" tall but I don't think you
will find anyone that thinks my car sets too high. From the center of the
fender lip to the ground,it measures approximately 24". This is with an
all-iron SBC. Your 502 would probably weigh about 100lbs more.
The shock adjustments on the QA1's are very linear. Every click makes a
difference.
An important question to consider is "how low are your headers"?

Clint,

That is the system that I am leaning towards - part number GMP16 (small
block Chevelle). Was thinking that the BB springs may not allow me to lower
the front end enough to get the proper "rake" due to the 502 w/aluminum
heads, aluminum radiator, no A/C, etc. Plus the front tire diameter is less
than 25" (B.F.Goodrich P265 50R15). The springs that I have on there now
make the car sit approx. 4" above the wheel. Looks similar to an old '60s
drag carwhich is not necessarily a bad look, it is just not what I'm
looking for with this project.
Any idea how much adjustment is allowed with the system ? Do you notice
any real difference in the 12 position valve adjusting ?

I seem to be going through another parts gathering
stage. Got a stack of parts going out in the garage. A “new” uncut
dash off ebay and an 850 Demon are some of the latest. The biggie came today –
my 17” Budnik Fontanas finally showed up! Took them 7 weeks to get them
to me, but they are damn nice. I’ll send a link with pictures when I get
them mounted tomorrow.

hi gang
yesterday i dropped my differential and removed my 37 year old rear springs and
insulators and replaced them both with new insulators (ebay for $9.99 +
shipping) and used springs (also from ebay for less than 20 dollars) the ride
is 100% better, i still cant believe how smooth it rides.
the suspension was in really bad shape when i got the car 2 years ago.
i would bottom out on rough roads so i got some spring spreaders and used them
on the front until i did the disk brake conversion earlier this year, i installed
new(er) front springs at that time.i also had spring spreaders on the rear
springs, it helped but still would drag on rough roads or speed bumps, nothing
as bad as the sound of your flowmasters dragging bottom. It's hell working on a
shoestring budget!
anyway, just thought I'd post this to the group, its been kind of quiet lately.

RE: [Chevelle-list] 350 turbo Question

2004-07-23 Thread Dave Studly

Turbo
350s don't use an electrical switch for kickdown -- Turbo 400s
do.

My
guess would be that it's either for reverse lights or a neutral safety
switch.

  Question
   When I was removing the
bolts from the transmission I noticed a place to hook up a wire by the
tranny lines. Did the 350 turbo come with a lock up torque or
something?Nope, no lock up converter, but it did
have a solenoid for the kick down operation.  It's activated by a switch
on the accelerator pedal through (I think)an orange wire connected to the
solenoid.  When you floor it, current is sent to the solenoid that kicks
it down into 2nd gear (AKA "passing gear").BTW, I don't think any '68s
came with a TH350, they either had a Powerglide or the TH400.  If your
car was originally a 4 speed or Powerglide, the switch and wire won't be
  there.
I don't know what wire you would hook to
it.Look for an orange wire coming out of the
  firewall just below the wiper
  motor.
I also don't know what year the transmission is but it does
have a drain plug?Nope, you have to drop the pan to
  change the fluid.BL

[Chevelle-list] K&N FILTER

2004-07-23 Thread Landkfau
HAS ANYONE USED A K&N FILTER IN A COWL INDUCTION SET UP? I AM TRYING TO USE A K&N BASE AND TOP ON A 1970 396 WITH COWL INDUCTION. THE FILTER K&N SAYS FITS IT IS TOO LARGE. K&N # E-1650 BASE/66-1401 TOP. HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH A/C, FRAM REPLACEMENT FILTERS BEFORE. HAS ANYONE RUN INTO THIS BEFORE. THANKS.

That frame looks great. Does paint stick? That must be a commercial plater, I bet
galvanizing is not available in too many different places.

I'm working on the rust at the bottom of my tailgate. I cut a bunch of dead metal
from the bottom and am trying to fill it without removing the T/G from the elky.

Also cleaning up & painting the smugglers compartment. I'm gonna relocate all of the
"add-on" electrical stuff back there.
Its got to be water tight, but I'd like to hinge it too - Any ideas?

hi gangyesterday i dropped my differential and removed my 37 year old
rear springs and insulators and replaced them both with new insulators (ebay
for $9.99 + shipping) and used springs (also from ebay for less than 20
dollars) the ride is 100% better, i still cant believe how smooth it
rides.the suspension was in really bad shape when i got the car 2 years
ago.i would bottom out on rough roads so i got some spring spreaders and
used them on the front until i did the disk brake conversion earlier this
year, i installed new(er) front springs at that time.i also had spring
spreaders on the rear springs, it helped but still would drag on rough roads
or speed bumps, nothing as bad as the sound of your flowmasters dragging
bottom. It's hell working on a shoestring budget!anyway, just thought I'd
post this to the group, its been kind of quiet lately. Hows everyone Else's
projects going?would love to hear how everyone else is doing.Bill
