Re: [Chevelle-list] coil over shocks
I'm running 275/40/17 front tires which are 25.7" tall but I don't think you will find anyone that thinks my car sets too high. From the center of the fender lip to the ground,it measures approximately 24". This is with an all-iron SBC. Your 502 would probably weigh about 100lbs more. The shock adjustments on the QA1's are very linear. Every click makes a difference. An important question to consider is "how low are your headers"? Re: [Chevelle-list] coil over shocks
Clint, That is the system that I am leaning towards - part number GMP16 (small block Chevelle). Was thinking that the BB springs may not allow me to lower the front end enough to get the proper "rake" due to the 502 w/aluminum heads, aluminum radiator, no A/C, etc. Plus the front tire diameter is less than 25" (B.F.Goodrich P265 50R15). The springs that I have on there now make the car sit approx. 4" above the wheel. Looks similar to an old '60s drag carwhich is not necessarily a bad look, it is just not what I'm looking for with this project. Any idea how much adjustment is allowed with the system ? Kent,I'm running QA1 coilovers on the front of my 69 El Camino. I'm pleased with the damping rates but need to install some SB springs, instead of the BB units. The car still has a SB in it and the BB springs are a little harsh. I purchased the BB units thinking my 427 would be in the car by the time I got the GW tubular A-arms & coilovers installed. RE: [Chevelle-list] 350 turbo Question
Turbo 350s don't use an electrical switch for kickdown -- Turbo 400s do. My guess would be that it's either for reverse lights or a neutral safety switch. -Dave -Original Message-From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]On Behalf Of Bill LessenberrySent: Friday, July 23, 2004 2:01 PMTo: The Chevelle Mailing ListSubject: Re: [Chevelle-list] 350 turbo Question When I was removing the bolts from the transmission I noticed a place to hook up a wire by the tranny lines.
