[Chevelle-list] for sale
I have to sell my 68 chevelle due to health problems. I was wondering what to ask for it? I did not have it long. It has 350 engine 350 trans 4.11 rear body is good. Any questions can e-mail me. Thanks Nick From Ohio
[Chevelle-list] More on the alternator(?) problem
Tonight, after driving ten miles with the headlights on, I got a voltage reading off the new battery of 12.11 with the engine running and the lights still on. Not too good, I guess. A mechanic friend of mine says that you shd really get a reading of about 13.5 volts. And he also says that to know if the alternator is charging right, you also have to read the amperage. ?

Re: [Chevelle-list] RE: rare option
lol. My old Ford Ranger was equipped with a "highway divider wall" finder. On my way to work one morning, the front and rear finders came on, which must have, by default, activated the drivers side "Saturn SLY" finder. It all made for a great morning indeed. RE: [Chevelle-list] Paint Mixure
Nice anecdote but I think if you’ll do a Google search on “rule of thumb”, you’ll find that not the case. The phrase first appears in writing in 1692, and refers to "some method or procedure that comes from practice or experience, without any formal basis." ;*) Dale There used to be a law that prohibited a man from beating his wife with any stick larger in diameter than his own thumb. That's where the _expression_ "rule of thumb" comes from. Just FYI.

[Chevelle-list] Unusual option
I was looking through my Assembly Instructions book for the 69 Chevelle, and I ran across an option for "Traction Compound Dispenser". It's a round tube mounted on the rear outter fender area within the trunk. One of the items is "Container Asm. - Tire Traction Compound". This compound sits on top of the tube, and then an "applicator actuator asm" sits on top of the tube of compound. I had never heard of such a thing. Has anyone ever seen this option on a car? Steve
[Chevelle-list] New heads???
Can anyone explain to me the Deference between the "wedge/pocket porting" and the "canted/oval pocket ported heads. What is the BB AL Edlebrock performer RPM head? Does it really make a difference between Oval and Rectangle choices for the street? Does it make a difference between Aluminum oval or iron cast oval heads for the street? What is a good choice for my 454? I'll go into detail of what I've done so far if someone will help me. Thanks in advance. Jack's 66 Jack Thorpe [EMAIL PROTECTED]

RE: [Chevelle-list] Aligning Head Lights
Herb, The way I did it was to set my truck on level ground and about 2 foot away from the wall. Turning on the lights, I marked the spots they made with masking tape; x marks the spot. Then, back up about 25 to 30 foot and adjust your lights to center into the x's. I set the lights on my truck in the center of these marks rather than below and enjoy good illumination with halogen lights. Title: Message I did the MAD headlight relay a long time ago and (IMO) it made a huge differance in light output. Definately a worthwhile upgrade.
