The Z16 is a 65 with a 396/375 engine. The
option cost $1501.05 and there were only 201 made. Also, you couldn't buy one
for near that price. Mike.

I used the Tru-Max insulator mat. I got it from Summit PN TRU-BLIP11406.
It's not as heavy or as expensive as the Dynamat, but it made a very
noticeable difference in the amount of heat noise coming into the car.
I used 1 sheet (4 x 6 ft) under the carpet from the firewall to under the
front seat. It's a cheaper and lighter alternative.

Good luck
finding someone to make custom headers. I can't find anyone within 150
miles that makes custom headers anymore. If you live in a lower rent area,
maybe you can find them, but in metro areas the shop can make more money doing
catalytic converters and standard installs all day than taking a few days to
make something custom.
If anyone

Have you tried grinding a little on the caliper? I know this is also a
major problem with the 4th-gen Camaros and I had to grind my rear
calipers for my new Weld Pro Stars to fit. 15 x 10 7.5bs

i ordered some 15 x 10 american racing rims with a 6.5 back space, when
i received them they would not fit over a gm caliper! i called American

fit over a caliper, they claimed it was all over their web site and in
their literature, and blew me off for any kind of return. i went back to
their web site and saw nothing!! seems pretty common to me that a wheel
should fit a disc brake- even the old chevy ralleys fit!!!

Clint,

Do you personally know anyone (you?) using these

Thanks,

I've talked to Ed and he is too busy. I even
paid for his analysis/design service to see if that would work but he took a
month and ended up telling me he is too busy to make
them.

No way to control the expansion. Use the flat stuff
and roll it on good and tight.

Definately dynamat. I used several, several hundred
 dollars of it a few
years ago in a comp audio car that I built when I
 was playing with that
hobby. Use enough on the floor, ceiling, doors,
 rear deck, truck, over
wheel wells, anywhere and the car will be a tomb
 with minimal rattles. I
used it 3 and 4 layers thick in some high resonance
 areas. But it do get
expensive. I also put house insulation ( the pink
stuff ) in areas that I
could not get to any other way but shoving in a
 hole. Under the rear seat
 was one spot

  All

I have the interior of my 71 gutted including dash
 removal, time to start
putting it back together. Looking for info on what
 I can use to replace
  the
original soundproofing (tar paper and padding) saw
 some nice shiny
(aluminum) backed stuff being used on one of the
 Car shows the other
  night.
Looking to limit that road noise sound. Does any
 one have a recommendation
or should I just go with the new stuff listed in
 many of the after market
catalogues. I have some stiff poly foam (packing
 type material) that I was
planning on using under the dash, got some 3m Glue
 the other day any word
  on
that idea good or bad. It looks like it would be
 better then the stuff
  that
was crumbling apart when I removed the dash that
 looked like some kind of
  fiber board gone bad.
