I have recently bought my first musclecar: 1970 chevy chevelle, 350, primered, automatic. Fred, Take a look at www.usradiator.com. Their Desert Cooler is a good choice to keep a stock appearance with a better cooling unit. It is not correct as a Harrison was the stock radiator. [Chevelle-list] Car Washing
I've tried the Mr Clean car washing system and it worked fine. EXCEPT that the water around here is so hard that the rinse cartridge lasts only for 1 1/2 washes. I saw an RV water softener on eBay ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4545111098&category=50070 ) and if you read the hype, softened water will do everything the Mr Clean system does. So, do any of you rinse your car with household softened water? Does it dry without water spots?Seems like over time the eBay softener would be a bunch cheaper to run. Along those lines, is the Mr Clean rinse cartridge a water softener? Do you think its possible to recharge the cartridge? -- Rick Schaefer 72 TPI El Camino
[Chevelle-list] June Hot Rod
Hi all, If any of you see the June issue of Hot Rod, check out the '67 Vette on page 56, it belongs to my neighbor. The pictures don't do this car justice that's all I can say (and that it's frickin' fast!). Speaking of the June Hot Rod, the Mother's '67 Elky is on page 64. This is a very nice ride, it's got great looking paint, interior, and a 572 under the hood. The only thing I would change are the size of the wheels. The wheels don't look bad because they're tucked in the fenders nicely but 22" in back and 20" in front are a bit too big for my taste. Herb Lumpp http://users.adelphia.net/~hlump/index.htm
