RJ,
Double check the wiring on the ignition solenoid, if it is stuck or mis-wired, it can energize the starter when ignition power is applied.

x-tad-biggerHey list,/x-tad-bigger

x-tad-bigger Heres the latest problem Ive come up with. My friend has a 1967 mustang and just built a 302 to put in it. We wired everything up and for some reason the starter cranks the motor over when the key is in the ON position instead of the START position. We went over the diagrams and connections all day and got nowhere. Its a little off topic but if anyone has any input on how to fix it please let me know. Thanks RJ Winkler/x-tad-bigger

The switch is actually on the dash and has
only one way of fitting in place. We replaced the switch and still got
the same results. Same with the starter solenoid. Thanks
though RJ

Is the ignition switch positioned
correctly? Ive seen this when the rod and the switch arent
aligned properly. Like the switch is a bit too far down the steering
column so the rod always has it one position ahead (or something like that)

It sounds like there is a 12v ignition source connected to the spot on the solenoid there the ignition only 12v source should be... time to get out the test light and trace those down.

there are two small plug on wires on the solenoid, one has power for coil in
ignition position, the other has power in start position.try switching those two
around.

[Chevelle-list] Edelbrock Parts

2005-05-28 Thread Crazy Rusty

Anyone know if you can get the O-rings that seal the chamber
where the regular, in-carb, fuel filter goes? Specifically I have an 850cfm
Performer carb. I totally gnashed my current one up beyond recognition so Im
not sure what to replace it with.

Since it seems every store I call is closed, I thought maybe
someone on here would know.

Thanks!
JB

You can
buy a bag of assorted size O-rings at any auto parts store for a few bucks.

Not very nice weather today. The pictures
are the view from my garage today around 4:00pm. Lots of hail. Look at it coming
out of the down spout on the house. My hot rod was covered at one
point.

Is that true? I've never understood how it works. I have the idea
that leaning it out gives you better mpg but costs you in power, and
the problem with mountain passes is that you lose horsepower the
higher you go. So I'm thorougly confused. (Nothing new).
