Today I had an ultra sound and it seems the lump is just a fatty deposit ! So I get to call the surgeon and cancel my appointment with him : )! During this time I turned 55.So I've started to diet and am getting into exercising. I can already see and feel the difference. Now for the lecture- All of you 40+ guys need to have a checkup once a year. If it hadn't been for my sciatica problem I would have never gone to the Doctor. It wasn't until he did a complete physical on me did I realize how important ones health is. So today I went out bought a engine hoist and stand. Tuesday I am going down to the machine shop and picking up my aluminum head 454 that has been there for 4 years (paid for just didn't have the room or the time to work on the car). Also Tuesday my new 4L80E transmission is supposed to be arriving . Finally after 6 years I am going to start working on the car and quit buying parts. Larry (Z)

Re: [Chevelle-list] Help: Trans/Speedo Help Needed.
I have a 64 El Camino with a Muncie 4 speed, M 21. Just had it rebuilt at Cottsman. Was recommended to me. After getting the car back from rebuilt transmission, my speedo does not work. I replaced the cable, and still nothing. I see the old cable worked ok, once I removed it. With my cable it is a screw on cap at both ends, so not hard to replace. Just can not figure why the speedo does not work after having the transmission rebuilt. yes it did work before the transmission work. Will be talking to them today. So I too need help with the Transmission and Speedo cable too. Thank you All, Kelly
Re: [Chevelle-list] Help: Trans/Speedo Help Needed.
Thank you, Yes I am going to check if the inner cable moves when the transmission is moving and going to use a drill to see if the speedo meter works. One thing I learned, was to make sure you pull off the vacume advance and plug the holes. And yes I am about 9 to 12 degrees out. Kelly In a message dated 5/26/2005 8:38:12 P.M. Yes it is very searchable. I was looking for brackets theother day, and I just followed what The chevelle List allowed me to click on. Was quite easy. Re: [Chevelle-list] what is a smuggler box?
I have to agree, my '64 is in the bed about a foot from the back window. A cover comes off and is a compartment in there. About a foot wide foot deep and full across the width of the bed. I have a '64 El Camino, 327 and I want to move the alternator to the bottom left of the engine. I hear others have done that. Normally my set up is to the upper right, but that is crowded with the power steering unit and valve covers. Anyone have photos or where I can get brackets to mount my alternator down by the fuel pump or over on the left side. Thank you, Kelly

I did not care for the change that took place in the Chevelles in 68. Even today they are somewhat so so to my eye. It's all in your personal perspective. I have learned to love all the old cars, yes even some of the F--ds. And I have seen some really well done late model El Caminos. It's all about the passion. Mike Holleman

Re: [Chevelle-list] For a living...
It gets better Matt. I had a 64 elky when I was 17. Father pass away suddenly so I received the car. Had it for 5 or so years when I was in college, and then sold it. Got a 71 about 15 years ago, both cars were nice and a friend totaled the 71. Never paid me a cent. I am 51 now and just purchased a 64 again that is very nice. But I keep finding my self going out and working on any little thing I can. Now I can afford about anything I want for the car.Is great to hear all the stores on here.
