[Chevelle-List] Anti sway bar (removed?)
Is there any reason for having the anti sway bar removed? I simply cant't find one on my -71 chevelle 2-d ht? Strange or have I missed sth? Where is it supposed to be located? This is getting ugly? Best regards Pelle

[Chevelle-List] Q: Stepdown linkage Holley/402 BB/Chevelle -71
Does anyone knowwhich linkage I should use to link the step-down gas to my Holley DP 800? Right now its connected with cable strips if I hook itup the step-down it gears down the gas hangs (hairy!) Mr. inquisitive Pelle
[Chevelle-List] How to install Summit Tachometers?
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=SUM%2DG2905 My car was equipped with this tacometer but... How do i connect it? Or should I just trash it? There's one white, red green wire! Best RegardsPelle Andersson http://members.chello.se/trancearctica/gastrash/members/pelle641013/index.html
[Chevelle-List] Q: Carburator tuning?
My car is running better better but there's a new "problem" with the carburator (or is it sth else)? It runs smoothly on idle when I give itsome gas but... When I give it just a little bit of gas it "chokes" stutter until I pass that position give it some more gas, then it suddenly revs up acts like normal. This only happens when there's a "load" on the engine/transmission never in neutral which makes it hard to fix! I know that my description is somewhat vague but I hope you'll get the picture? What's wrong? Best Regards Pelle Andersson
[Chevelle-List] Engine setup!
At the moment my Chevelle's got a 402 (bored 0.30) an Edelbrock RPM Intake and a Holley 800 DP! Re: [Chevelle-List] RE: FS - 1968 Ninety Eight convertible possibly 1969 El Camino
Hope you'll get all those worries sorted out, getting life as simple as possible is one of those things that really eases every day life when you're down, even if it means that you'll have to sell your cars! I wouldn't have bought my cars a few years back since my life was a mess then (broken relation, record deal that was broken due to bankruptcy, no apartment etc.) So take care! I don't see it as giving up anything. Like I said earlier, neither of these cars is my dream car and I'm sure there will still be old cars for sale after I get my living situation in better order. I said when I moved into this apartment that I would only stay a couple-few years while I sorted things out after my divorce. So, I think it's time to get back to having a plan and feeling like my life is adding up to something worthwhile. The cars have been a fun diversion but I'm very busy right now and don't even have time to enjoy them. I haven't even been to a single show yet this year. Setting up a new business requires endless hours. I can spend half a day just returning emails and phone calls. I'll get another car when I have time to enjoy it and a proper place to keep it. Re: [Chevelle-List] Engine setup!
Thanks for your input! As I suspected, the carburator is a tad to large? The air/fuel mixture gets a bit too wet!? Maybe that's the cause of the gas smell in the cupé? (not too bad now) I've sealed all the joints so nothing is leaking from the exhaust system any more! Re: [Chevelle-List] Valve cover vent!
The car's engine isn't stock at all! (A 1971 Chevelle) The engin's a 402 BB (1972) with a Holley 800 DP M/T valve covers! It's the driversides valvecover that's got this hose connection. At the passenger side the hole's plugged whith a rubber plug. At the base of the carburator there's a 1/4'' hose, thats been cut off plugged with a bolt. Is this the place where the valve cover vent shoult go to? Right now the engine's just letting all those fumes right out in to the engine compartment making me high as a kite every time I drive the What year is the car? It sounds like you have a set of valve covers set up for the PCV and breather system. Most smallblocks I've seen have the PCV valve in the hole in the driver-side cover and the valve is connected to a manifold vacuum source. The other hole, at the rear of the passenger-side cover, is where either a breather (looks like a chrome or painted mushroom) or breather tube is installed. If a breather tube is used it's connected by a short piece of rubber hose to a filter that's mounted inside the air cleaner housing. Is this the place where the valve cover vent shoult go to? I have very little experience with BBCs but from what I remember the hole in the driver-side valve cover is used for the PCV valve and yes, the port in the carb base can be used for it as long as it's a source of manifold vacuum. However, I seem to recall most PCV lines as being 3/8. If you do this, though, replace the rubber plug in the passenger-side cover with a breather. The PCV system needs it to work properly. Brad - To Unsubscribe please visit www.chevelles.net/list.html To start a new topic, send mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] You might be right about the dimension of the vacuum hose! Shouldn't the passenger side go to the vacuum source too, via a T connection combining both valve vents? If I put a breather on the passenger side, isn't that breather going to let engine fumes in to the engine compartment as well? Can I just plug the present valve cover vent until I get it properly fixed? The reason I'm asking is that the fumes from the valvecover seems to leak into the coupé. Re: [Chevelle-List] Valve cover vent!
It doesn't smell like exhaust! It smells gasoline, but I can't find any leakage anywhere so it might be that the car gets a bit too much gas? There's traces of dripping on top of the intake manifold, maybe the carburator gets flooded? But I want to get the Valve cover exhaust issue fixed anyway! Thanks best regards Pelle Andersson - Original Message - From: Bill Vander Werf [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, June 01, 2003 7:46 AM Subject: RE: [Chevelle-List] Valve cover vent! If you are getting fumes in the interior of the car it is most likely from your exhaust system. A leaky exhaust system/rusted out floorboard combination can be deadly. Carbon monoxide poisioning is serious. You need to fix it immediately if that's the problem. There shouldn't be enough vapor coming out of your valve cover to be an issue. If there is enough blowby coming out of your valve cover for you to smell it you have a worn out motor.
