Re: [Chevelle-list] '65 door question
Well I took apart my rear end and it wasn't just a broken c clip. The pinion shaft was broken in 3 parts and gears were everywhere. So I'm having them install an Eaton posi unit with 3.73 gears. I had wanted to upgrade to a 12 bolt but money is an issue, so I'm sticking with the 10 bolt. Does anyone have recommendations on an Auto tranny with overdrive? I've read a lot about 700r and/or 200r? Any suggestions on the pros and cons? Re: [Chevelle-list] Correct Air Cleaner
Hi to all, I am new to the list and I have a question. I just had the right rear axle "walk" out of the rear end on my car. Luckilyit didn't come all the way out. I assume, from what I've read, that I may have broken a "c" clip. Am I assuming right, and how difficult is this to repair? I have a 67 big block Malibu, 350T with a 10 bolt rear end. I am mechanically inclined but no Master mechanic and I'll be doing this in my drive way. Thanks in advance for any advice.

This list has the best mix of knowledgeable folks coupled with people who normally wouldn't even think about working on their car, but do because they can get good intelligent (for the most part) information, without being told they are dumb for asking. Sometimes people just need some reassurance that their line of thinking is correct so that they can move on with some confidence.
