Re: [Chevelle-list] '66 Radiator in '65 Chevelle
They sell fittings with the male pipe threads on one end the female flared on the other end, just buy the fittings you don't have to do any cutting or flairing. ---Original Message--- From: Jim Thompson Date: 1/30/2010 7:49:46 PM To: dennis.mcgil...@mcgilliscompany.com; 'The Chevelle Mailing List' Subject: Re: [Chevelle-list] '66 Radiator in '65 Chevelle Simply cut off the flares, slide on the male ends and re-flare. You may already have the male ends on the lines they have just slide down the lines. You may also buy premade ends that can be spliced on to the old lines with a coupler. Any trans shop, brake or radiator shop can do it for you. -Original Message- From: chevelle-list-boun...@chevelles.net [mailto:chevelle-list-boun...@chevelles.net] On Behalf Of dennis.mcgil...@mcgilliscompany.com Sent: Saturday, January 30, 2010 7:34 PM To: chevelle-list@chevelles.net Subject: [Chevelle-list] '66 Radiator in '65 Chevelle Hi Guys, My '65 Chevelle got a new radiator from Kragen/O'reilly today and since they don't list a '65 three-row, I bought a '66 three-row. Re: [Chevelle-list] welding aluminum - OY!!
Brake Kleen works great along with a stainless brush. I used to do a lot of welding on aluminum fuel tanks, chipper chutes radiator shrouds,it was all done with a hand spool mig welder. When I did steel I just changed the cable gas was set to go. The main important thing is to just make sure the aluminum is CLEAN If not... The weld gets impurities, which means you have to grind down start all over again..no fun. Re: [Chevelle-list] 67 options
Hey Ron, All SS' were equipped with a 396 with 3 different hp versions, the turbo auto trans was optional and only on the 396,but you could'nt get it on the 375hp engines tho.The SS' had a blacked out grille, rear cove panel, the hood scoops, rocker wheel wellmldgs and side accent stripes. The blacked out instrument panel was only for the SS' along with all the SS' badges.A vinyl bench seat was standard, the redline tires, dog dish caps were also standard. You could get the disc brakes with ralley wheels redlines as an option, and you know about the tach headrests. El Camino SS' weren't built in '67 but you could get all the SS package without the emblems.I don't think they came with the full guage package, the trim , interior conveniencepackages were all options. Mostly tho you could get whatever you ordered they offered for that year. That is a beautiful car, it is funny seeing it with a bench column shifter. Correct that you could get any of the 396 engines and any trans in the Elky (TH400 with 396 only) and no SS Elky until 1968. The trans option might have changed after printing theoptions brochure however. The trim level on the Elky was still Malibu level in 67. Lower belt line trim, wood grain dash strip, NO SS hood even with the 396s,and even the Malibu script above the glove compartment. [Chevelle-list] shoddy body work
John, As I myself have been "duped" I have to tell myself " you live learn" I know I'll never do that again. I have a bad temper especially when I get taken, but I found out I can't beat their ass go to jail everytime someone screws me,all tho I still want too. I still believe in the old saying " what goes around comes around" slowly , not today maybe not tomorrow..but it is working now it's my turn. It's alot of money I lost ,but I can't dwell on it, I'd get eaten up. good luck just get it fixed the right way. If this stuff didn't happen to us ,we would'nt have nothing but "good " stories to tell all the time, Geez .who wants that LOL!! Re: [Chevelle-List] digital cameras
Yep, I have a Sony digital disc does thesame thing, I'm not sure but I think it might have something to do with the flash charge if it is to be used. The best thing to do is get one of those movie type thingamabobs that takes moving pictures, I think it's called a camcorder...than you can catch those little rascals moving fast or slow. There also great for car shows too! ---Original Message--- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Tuesday, April 01, 2003 9:44:11 PM To: Chevelle Subject: [Chevelle-List] digital cameras I have what is probably a silly question. I just picked up a Kodak 4230 digital camera just for snapping pics of cars and stuff for ebay, etc. However, I noticed that it does not work like my regular camera in that there is a delay between when you press the shutter button and when it actually takes the photo. Drives me nuts. My question is, are they ALL like this or just this Kodak. I mean, imagine trying to take a picture of a three year old when there's a 1.5 second delay. Shoot, my kids move so fast that by the time the shutter clicks they're in the next room. Craig E. IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here

Re: RE: [Chevelle-List] conv. tops
I just wasn't sure if the mounting holes would be there or if the top frame would be the same. I would definitely purchase all the new parts needed. Thanks for the input. Just wanted to find out if I could convert, if I was to purchase a manual. The proper holes should be there for the hydraulic cylinders, and I would think the top would be the same. They didn't make 2 different bodies. One for manual and one for auto tops. Unless your going to go with new parts I think the hard part would be finding a good donor car. Re: [Chevelle-List] Who cares?
Good One! Mikey '65 Chevelless - Original Message - From: Dale McIntosh [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, November 10, 2002 10:53 AM Subject: [Chevelle-List] Who cares? My question is, who the hell cares? Reminds me of the old adage: Apathy, who cares? I see again the point was missed. Obviously the writer of the question cares about poor instructions, missing and misleading information. My comments were NOT directed at any one person in particular, certainly not the writer and was NOT meant to be funny or a put down. The point is if you can't communicate, either by the written word or orally, you're going to have a tough time in the world. I'm sure all of us have received poor or incomplete (in our own opinion) instructions on doing something with our cars and nothing frustrates me more than poor instructions on how to accomplish a task...any task. Maybe we've been told some job should only take a couple of hours and, due to our personal lack of skills or knowledge in that area, it winds up taking three days. Is that our fault or can we push the blame to someone else? Most email programs have a spell check in them. If yours doesn't, try running MS Word or Wordperfect. Type the word in question and check it there. If you still can't figure out how to spell it, don't use it. Think of another way of asking the question or stating the opinion. Why push the burden to someone else to figure out what you're trying to say? If you can't figure it out, how can someone else? Not having typing skills is not an excuse in my opinion. Typing is simply an alternative to writing with pencil and paper and much easier to correct. It doesn't matter if you type 100 words a minute or one a minute with a straw between your teeth. If this simple skill eludes us, how can we be sure of our other skills? If NOBODY cared, pretty soon we'd be so lax that nobody could figure out what anyone was saying, we'd have parts that don't fit and instructions that made no sense. I'm sure we've all been there and experienced it. Do we only care when it happens to us?
