Re: [Chevelle-list] Power Steering Pump Brackets
All, thanks for the tip enclosed is Grove's link I sure hope he can help solve my dilemma on my SS396 clone Hoke http://www.alangrovecomponents.com/Catalog.htm - Original Message - From: Rick Schaefer To: The Chevelle Mailing List Sent: Tuesday, March 06, 2007 6:05 PM Subject: Re: [Chevelle-list] Power Steering Pump Brackets Bob I have a 72 SB with headers & A/C, probably the same as 71.I did have to purchase a special bracket for the rear of the A/C compressor, but nothing special for the power steering. Its been a long time since I put it together, but if there was suppose to be more than one bracket for the P/S pump I am running without one. I'd have to look to see exactly whats down there. One thing for sure, Alen Grove makes quality brackets. On 3/6/07, [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: I have a 71SS with a small block, w/air. I understand there are a couple of ways to bracket this power steering pump. One being the standard bracket that is on the rear of the pump that supposedly bolts to the motor mount bolt that goes to the block and then the exhaust manifold bolt - but this car has headers so a stud would have to be used with a double nut on the bracket to secure it. The other way is some brackets (aftermarket) made by some company called Alan Grove Components. These brackets bolt to the block next to the pump area and look like they'll work. [Chevelle-list] A Pully quagmire 66 Chevelle
Hi Gang, I am trying to solve the pulley puzzle on my BB 396, I have the alternator located on the left cylinder head (if your standing in front of the car) Does anyone know of a matched pulleys set crank, alt, long water pump and PS that will allow the belts to line up properly. I just replaced the PS pump and used an OE pulleys. The previous owner used anything and everything he could find that wasn't meant for the car I think he had stock in JC Whitney. I am not opposed to going all OE if it works, thought I would consult the experts. Thanks for your help Tim Hoke

Glacierand as Santa grabbed second it was all very good.Merry Christmas All ...thank goodness the 66 is back in the garage...Happy Holidays All - Original Message - From: Carl Ziegler To: Chevelle-list@chevelles.net Sent: Sunday, December 24, 2006 10:13 AM Subject: [Chevelle-list] Twas the night before Christmas 'Twas the night before Christmas, and out in the garage, There wasn't a trace of a Ford, Toyota, or Dodge. The presents were wrapped, and the lights were all lit, So I figured I'd mess, with the Chevelle a bit. I popped the release, and I lifted the hood, When a deep voice behind me said, "looks pretty good." Well as you can imagine, I turned mighty quick, And there by the workbench, stood good ol Saint Nick! We stood there a bit, not too sure what to say, Then he said "don't suppose that you'd trade for my sleigh?" I said "no way Santa", and started to grin, "But if you've got the time, we could go for a spin!" His round little mouth, all tied up like a bow, Turned into a smile and he said, "Hey! Let's go!!" So as not to disturb, all the neighbors' retreat, We pushed the Silverado, quietly out to the street. Then taking our places, to drift down the hill, I turned on the key, and I let the clutch spill. The sound that erupted, took him by surprise, But he liked it a lot, by the look in his eyes. With the tires a' cryin', and exhaust pipes aglow, We headed out where, the hot rodders go. And Santa's grin widened, approaching his ears, With every shift up, as I went through the gears. Then Santa yelled, "I've never felt so alive!" So I backed off the gas, and said "you wanna drive?" Ol Santa was stunned, when I gave him the keys, When he walked past the headlights, he shook at the knees! The Big block exploded, with dual exhaust sound! Santa let out the clutch and the tires shook the ground! Power shift into second, again into third! I sat there just watching, a loss for a word. Then I heard him exclaim, as we blasted from sight, "Merry Christmas to all. ..have a hell of a night!!!" __ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Re: [Chevelle-list] Small Rant: Customer Service
my two cents, I like most of you have been shopping at Summit for moons, I have never had an issue with a telephone rep other than a tech rep who didn't know his head from a hole in the ground. I voiced my concern to management and it was handled with kid gloves. I did have my first in store experience in Sparks this past Monday, truth be told I am going to stick with the telephone, nothing but 19 year know it alls behind the counter and you must visit three separate stations before you get your stuff and leave. Speedway has been a steady place to shop also, prices tend to be better but with Summit if in stock I see it within 2 days max Hoke 66 Chevelle SS396 85 Monte Carlo Street Stock 2004 Monte Carlo Late Model - Original Message - From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Sent: Thursday, November 09, 2006 5:49 PM Subject: Re: [Chevelle-list] Small Rant: Customer Service I wish your situation was known last week as I was at Summit and would have taken a copy of your e-mail message to their management. As some of you know, I'm doing a (rather slow) complete frame off resto-mod. This will likely entail the replacement or rehab of literally everything on the car. In other words, I will be buying a LOAD of parts and supplies for this job. My wife just called Summit Racing to buy some X-mas presents for my car. She had credit card in-hand and was ready to blow a load of cash. However, she was treated rudely by the person on the phone. They treated her like she was some kind of dummy, so she hung up and told me. I've been a Summit customer since I bought my first car, 15 years ago. I've been an extremely loyal customer all this time, buying tens of thousands of dollars worth of parts for 5 different cars. I just gave my wife the # for Jeg's.
