i ordered some 15 x 10 american racing rims with a 6.5" back space, when i received them they would not fit over a gm caliper! i called American Racing and they told me anything with a 5" or more back space would not fit over a caliper, they claimed it was all over their web site and in their literature, and blew me off for any kind of return. i went back to their web site and saw nothing!! seems pretty common to me that a wheel should fit a disc brake- even the old chevy ralleys fit!!! harlan

Depends on your caliper. My 93Z has finned calipers and I had to completely grind them down in certain areas. Oh well no custom 200s rims. Thanks for the link to Budnik. They have beautiful wheels just a little out of my current price bracket. Guess I'll just keep looking. If you are looking for a cheep steel wheel solution that doesnt look too bad try www.diamondracingwheels.com . For under $60/wheel you can have just about any bolt pattern or offset under the sun. Youll want to look at the Stock Car wheels as these are strong enough for street use. Most of the others are not. This will be going on my 71 chevelle. Yes they have what I want in the "SS" wheel. It just doesn't have the look that I want. I think I'll pursue the American Racing Torque Thrust II that Dale recommended. We'll see if they charge an unreasonable premium for making them with custom offsets. Lance -Original Message-From: Kelly C. Re: [Chevelle-List] American Racing 200s
Michael, American Racing has just released the a few rims that are listed in their AR-Custom Shop as 2 piece rims. You can actually specify your off set requirements to your application. They will make the rims based on your request in the custom shop. I am not sure how many styles they do this custom services with. I do know the Torq-Thrust II rims are offered in the 2 piece design. [Chevelle-List] American Racing Torque Thrust D Wheels
Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List Hi All, I have four used AR Torque Thrust D wheels that I want to sell or trade. The wheels need some restoration (paint re-tap some threads). I was planning to put these on my Chevelle, but have since decided to keep the original ralley wheels instead. I have two 15x8.5 and two 14x7. They have the 4 3/4 bolt pattern, not sure of the back spacing. I am going to list them in the local paper for $100 - $125 if no one is interested in them outright or for trade. Anyway, does this sound like a reasonable price? I would appreciate any comments/info. Thanks... James - To Unsubscribe please visit www.chevelles.net/list.html To start a new topic, send mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

RE: [Chevelle-List] American Racing Torque Thrust D Wheels
Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List Thanks for the reply Rick. I've received more than a few inquiries, so I guess the $125 price for all four is fair. I did go to a few online stores so I know that just one of the 14 wheels cost more than the price I'm asking. By the way, I'm located in Orlando.
