Speaking from experience,you will have to do some tunnel surgery to install
a T56. Fabricating a new tunnel top isn't that difficult,IMO.
Talk to ATS about their LSx-T56 installation kit.

I am planning on a huge project around July or so, and was wondering if

arguments that a T56 will not fit without MAJOR tunnel surgery, and then

cut the car up, so I would rather switch transmission options then resort

chopping up my car. I know SP makes the adapter for the reverse lock-out
to make it more low profile, and some companies make a custom tail shaft.
Questions is - is the custom tail shaft necessary, or can I just chuck in
a
stock T56 with minor mods? Anyone know?
