We sell Dynamat in various sizes. It is fairly heavy, but all sound deadener
is. I can weigh some tomorrow.

Out of curiosity, how much would this much Dynamat weigh? It seems like
you could pick up quite a bit of weight without realizing it. I'm having a

I know what your talking about. I use to be a stereo installer and made/designed some very trick and awesome systems. One of which was $10,000 for a customer who had more money than brains.

Anyway...the black tar like stuff works great. I'd use it over Dynamat hands down. It makes that car have a petroleum smell for about a week, but it totally goes away. You can cut that pieces to any size and shape, then place it where you want it...if you don't like it there, the pull it off and stick it again until your satisfied. BUT, once this material get's hot (summerday) IT STICKS. It's not permanent, so it won't ruin anything. If you need to remove it after it's adheared really good, then it will pull off, but you'll need you clean away the residue with praticaly any petroleum liquid...even WD-40 will do.

Not for the name...i will probably spell it wrong, so i will spell it how it sounds...BITCH-U-THANE.

My friend is a contractor and he got it from one of his suppliers so it's got to be relativly easy to find.

OPGI has a sale going on through Aug, on the sound deadener.
It's stamped to fit specific model interiors, and it's normally $59.95 on
sale for $34.95+14.95 S&H. They also have the spray adhesive for it at
$15.00 However, I'd suggest just getting some 3M spray adhesive at Lowes
for $5.99.

Dynomat is good, but it's expensive. I'm not sure that this would work, but
it seems like an idea - How about the stuff that is used for lining truck
beds? I think that would knock down noise, and would make for a good
weather sealant. You can also buy it in cans and apply it yourself even
cheaper. Just a suggestion. Has anyone tried this?

John,

You said you also sell Dynamat. How much does it run for the various
types? I'm thinking about coating my floor with the heat reflective
stuff, and maybe the wheel wells, roof, doors, and trunk with the
standard sound stuff, depending on when the budget runs out. I know it
can really add up quickly, so I may just stop at some point. But the
interior seems like the best place to start for both heat rejection and
sound reduction. Any idea on the square feet required?

That's not
true, as far as I know. We sell all kinds of sound deadener from Dynamat to
rubber-backed jute to those thick tar-like pads that go under the carpets. In the
aftermarket, I have never seen any sound deadener made out of cardboard.
