I have a 67 Malibu, with a 396, 350 Turbo,
power steering and no A/C (yet). Can you guys recommend what set of
headers I should use? The current set in my car are all rusty and ball
peened so theplug wires don't touch. Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated.

I found that MSD Multi-angle ends worked best
with my BB and Hooker headers. They can each be bent to fit their
particular location.

I bought some of the Taylor
8MM spiral wound wires. Just plain black, with the 45 degree boots. You
can get them straight, or 90 degree also. They appear stock, only
giveaway is some white writing on them.

Thanks for the kudos. The air cleaner is a

Ditto. I also bought the MSD p/n 35379 for the
big blocks which are 8.5mm spiral wound 50 ohm wires with the bendable ends.
They are red with gray boots.

As a sidenote about MSD as a company, when I
assembled my engine, I took it in to have it dyno'ed. In the process, I lost

called MSD. They sent one out at no charge. Way to go MSD!

Dennis,

I bought those at www.summitracing.com The part number for
mine is RNM-1102P.

If you do a search with just RNM- in the search
box, you will see them all. They come in polished, red or blue for all kinds of
applications.

To install, you just back out two of your valve
cover bolts, match up the holes and put the bolts back in.

It costs around $40.

I'll second the vote for MSD as a company. I had
an MSD6 unit in my Corvette and the coil died. I replaced the coil from an
auto parts store, but it was the wrong kind and messed up the control box.
I was on a road trip (that's why I got the wrong coil), and ended up buying a
new MSD6 box and coil once I got to a real city with a speed shop. When I
got home, I boxed up the bad controller and sent it to MSD for repair.
They sent it back with no charge for the repair.

I've been meaning to ask for a recomendation on wires as well. I have

plug wires. Any brands to avoid? 45 degree boots? 135 degree boots?

I bought some of the Taylor
8MM spiral wound wires. Just plain black, with the 45 degree boots. You
can get them straight, or 90 degree also. They appear stock, only
giveaway is some white writing on them.

Thanks Larry, my late model small block hasvalve cover bolts in the
center rather than the edge. Summit shows them for center bolt valve
covers but it would not look nearly as clean as yours.

  Dennis,

I bought those at www.summitracing.com The part number
  for mine is RNM-1102P.

If you do a search with just RNM- in the search
box, you will see them all. They come in polished, red or blue for all kinds
  of applications.

To install, you just back out two of your valve
cover bolts, match up the holes and put the bolts back in.

  It costs around $40.

Hi Larry, Your big block does look great. Please tell me
about your plug wire guides. Do you know if there is something similar
for late model small blocks? Do they screw onto the side of the
head?
Thanks,

  Jim,

Thanks for the kudos. The air cleaner is a
combination of a drop down base, a 14x2.5 inch KN Filtercharger, and
the top is a KN X-stream filter top that is supposed to add 500+ cfm
of airflow. I had to go with this combination to overcome my clearance
issue in my 66 brought on by the use of the Edelbrock Performer RPM Airgap
  intake.

Ditto. I also bought the MSD p/n 35379
for the big blocks which are 8.5mm spiral wound 50 ohm wires with the
bendable ends. They are red with gray boots.

As a sidenote about MSD as a company,
when I assembled my engine, I took it in to have it dyno'ed. In the
process, I lost my coil wire. Not being able to find a suitable
replacement at Summit, I called MSD. They sent one out at no charge.
  Way to go MSD!

I found that MSD Multi-angle ends
worked best with my BB and Hooker headers. They can each be
bent to fit their particular location.

Hmm.. I didn't know that about late model small
block valve covers... I should pay more attention when I'm looking around under

That's too bad Dennis. Just keep looking. I'm sure
you will find something you like.

I used the Bow Tie wire looms on my HT383 center bolt.
I just made an L shaped bracket to bolt on the two
little tapped holes right below the valve cover.
