[Chevelle-list] Vent Windows

2011-06-27 Thread sixty7ss396

Can anyone give me directions for changing the weatherstriping around the vent
window on a 65 Malibu? Any special tools or hardware needed? I have both
assemblies out of the doors.
Thanks.

No special tools needed. It really is pretty easy to do. Getting the
assemblies out of the door is the hardest part.

  I've got a new
set of rubber hanging in the garage. The
wind whistle is annoying, but
not annoying enuff to make me start the
change. Maybe this winter?

Don't you just hate that. I use the whistle
as a speed indicator. The higher the pitch
the FASTER were going.

Even after replacing the rubber on my '66 it still whistled, drove me nuts
because it shouldnt whistle. I then went to the hardware store and got some
1/8 foam stickey backed weatherstrip, the 1/4 wide stuff on a roll, it is
used to seal doors in a house. a year later i still haven't heard a peep out
of it.

  I found this: http://www.geocities.com/chadjlandry/Venty1.html at
http://links.chevelles.net/links I'd bet that the malibu is similar
if not identical to Chads El Camino. Sounds like you are on the
right track.Let the list know how this turns out. I've got a new
