John, As you probably know, there was no Yellow offered for 98 Corvettes. The closest thing to yellow was Aztec Gold Metallic. Only fifteen 1998 Corvettes were painted Aztec Gold Metallic (12 coupes and 3 roadsters) in 3 batches of 5. In between batches, adjustments were made to the color resulting in 3 slightly different variations. The color was thence discontinued due to production problems. So, if your 1998 Corvette has a paint code of 58, it is one of only 15 that were painted Aztec Gold Metallic. Now, wouldn't that be nice? For 1970 Camaro, there was a color called Daytona Yellow (no canary). Paint code #51. Ditzler # 2094, Dupont # 5026LH, and Rinshed-Mason # A-2119. Millennium Yellow has been offered as an extra-cost option on Corvettes since the 2000 model year. Paint code 79. Unfortunately I don't have any Ditzler, Dupont, or R-M codes for it. You can probably find it if you search google for Corvette paint codes, or try one of the paint manufacturers' sites. -Original Message- John.. How about Millenium Yellow ?? Re: [Chevelle-List] Paint Code Question
Bucket seat frames from many of the '66 - '67 GM intermediates are the same and are interchangeable. The foam may be sculpted differently, and the cover fabrics and patterns will probably be different. But the correct foam and covers are readily available from most of the aftermarket suppliers. I have two sets of '66 buckets - one from a Buick Skylark, and one from a Le Mans or GTO. My intentions are to rebuild these correctly for my '66 Chevelles - one has no seats, the other has black buckets from something else. Experiences of others tells me this is no picnic doing it myself, but the local upholstery shop wants $150.00 per seat, plus covers, plus any extra foam or new springs, etc. That brings it up to the $700 - $800 range for 2 buckets and the back seatso I'll figure out how to do it! RE: [Chevelle-List] Paint Code Question
Welcome Wayne and congratulations on your purchase. Two tone combinations were not suppose to be available in 1966 but that's not to say some weren't produced. Could be it originally had a vinyl top and the "A" could represent a black vinyl top. Look for indications of the trim holes around the lower part of the rear sail panels. I've seen some strange cowl tags before - any chance of you sending me (not the list) a picture of it - [EMAIL PROTECTED]? I have seen a 67 with lower of "G" (Granada Gold) and an upper code of "6". Nobody has any idea what the "6" is. http://www.team67.com/information/cowl_tag_sample.jpg Now to your 66. An automatic would be a Powerglide, the TH400 wasn't available until the 67 model year. The seats themselves shouldn't be too hard to find but beware of getting the correct year. A lot of sales on eBay are by either (1) idiots or (2) people who think the buyer is an idiot. The seats are different I think between 66 and 67 (although I think they'll interchange) but the consoles for the A/T are the same. I don't know of anyone in the aftermarket making repo consoles for 66/67 yet but seat coverings, as well as door panels and such, are readily available. Aside from my "dalesplace" site, you might check my "team67" site as well. I have a lot of exploded views from a GM Parts and Accessories catalog with part numbers for 66-67 Chevelle stuff. As people ask for more information on different parts I try to find them and list them.
