RE: [Chevelle-List] Speaking of wheels ....& tires

2003-01-21 Thread Brian Zack
I got my chrome 15x8 chrome rallies at discount tire and I think they are
american racing. American racing has them on their web site. They are a dual
bolt patern though. And just have that generic center dish cover . I lik
them. I think they were $75 each IIRC.

Speaking of tires...I went to a local place after getting a quote at a
recent show for wheels and tires. The tires were a bit more than some
places, but the wheels seemed like a good show price, so I went down to
the local outlet today. There was a minor disagreement over whether the
price was for Rally rims that had the center's chromes vs. painted. Well
the price went from $58 per, to $90 per. I left and am not going back.

Anyone have a good source for chrome rally rims?

What kind of tires do you buy for non-original radials? I am looking at
BF Goodrich T/A's or Goodyear Eagles raised white letters.

I seen places I can buy tires online and have them shipped cheaper than
I can buy them locally. Anyone bought tires this way before?

I’m running those
same tires on my 69, they have lasted six years.  Good tires.

I am running the Firestone Firehawk SS20 on the Chevelle at the moment altough
they need to be replaced for some reason ;-).  They grab alot better than
the BFG Radial T/A or the Goodyear Eagles.  I think I'll go do some
research on what looks good and performs the best.

Here's a link for tires.

I have not used this company, but have heard good things about them from
customers.

Steve;

BF Goodrich Radial TA's are a good looking classic tire. If you print out
the prices you get them for on the internet and take it to a tire shop they
will generally match the price. They did for me here in Atlanta.
