RE: [Chevelle-list] 66 Speedometer - dash removal
Just re-read, dont try to lay the steering wheel on the seat if the seat is out of the car.hehehe Full Revs!!! :o) André -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 14. februar 2004 19:36 To: Chevelle list Post Subject: [Chevelle-list] 66 Speedometer - dash removal Hi I am looking for some guidance on removing my speedometer on my 66. The speedometer works but the odometer quit. I have removed the front seat and by looking up under the dash it appears to come out from behind. How involved does this get? Do you have to remove the steering column to get the unit out or can you maneuver it around the column and the braces? Any suggestions on common problems on the odometer? Thanks for the help. Mark
RE: [Chevelle-list] 66 Speedometer - dash removal*
If you are going to work under the dash wear a long sleeved sweater and not a t-shirt or you will bleed from your arms On a 68 to take the speedo out you will have to lower the column if I remember well, nothing special, just remove the plastic cover underneath the column, take the three nuts off and lay the steering wheel on the seat. RE: [Chevelle-list] 66 Speedometer - dash removal
Probably the best way is to remove the dash, which you'll have to drop the column. It really is not as bad as it sounds and goes back in pretty easy.
