Re: [Chevelle-list] E-brake intermediate cable
Yep and it took them until 1968 to install a TH400 in the Corvette. RE: [Chevelle-list] E-brake intermediate cable
Thanks. I bought the clip that was on ebay. I am going to go to a friend's store and look through some of the intermediate cables he has in stock. I think as long as it's about 8ft long and has ends that will stay in the clips, any one will work. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, September 25, 2005 11:19 AM To: Chevelle-list@chevelles.net Subject: Re: [Chevelle-list] E-brake intermediate cable probably 1/4 inch John

I guess another question is what diameter round stock? -Original Message- Thanks Ron. Another friend also told me yesterday that you can make the hook out of round stock. I may just do that. do you know what the overall length is supposed to be? John Nasta -Original Message- John, I got onto this thread late, but if you're talking about the hook that supports either side of the E-brake, I went to Lowe's and got some round rod and made my own. Just bend it into two open hooks like an "S". One hooks into a hole in the body brace and the other holds slight tension on the cable. Ron Griffith

Thanks. Too bad they don't have pictures of any of it. It seems like there are several different hooks. I also still am not 100% sure which cable I need. Looks like the equalizer on the A-body cars was just a metal hook. It was the B & C body cars that had a cable. I'm going to check tomorrow to see of the hook is still attached to my car but I'm guessing it's gone. I went to a shop today for an inspection but they said they wouldn't pass it w/o a working e-brake. Need that sticker by Friday. Desert Dog Auto Parts said they didn't have any of the parts :(
Re: [Chevelle-list] E-brake intermediate cable
But the TH400 was introduced in Chevelles,in 1967. Clint HooperH&H Custom,owner1969 El Camino ProTourer2001 H-D FLHR custom baggerhttp://dalesplace.com/misc/friends/clint/clint_hooper.htm - Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 69 was the first year Chevelles came with TH350 Larry (Z)

RE: [Chevelle-list] E-brake intermediate cable
A question has come up about the intermediate cable. My car came w/ a powerglide, but I changed it to a TH350. Delco lists these: INTERMED BRAKE CABLE TURBOHYDRAMATIC INTERMED BRAKE CABLE 3 SPD HEAVY DUTY OR 4 SPD INTERMED BRAKE CABLE 3 SPD EXC HEAVY DUTY and Wagner lists these: INTERMED BRAKE CABLE TH400 TRANS 2DR INTERMED BRAKE CABLE TH400 TRANS - MALIBU & SS INTERMED BRAKE CABLE EXC TH400 TRANS 4DR Which one would you say I need? A TH350 is a three speed, but when they are saying 3-spd heavy duty or not, are they referring to manual transmissions? There was no 4-speed automatic at that time. On the Wagner listings, it seems like it could only be the third one, except that an El Camino is on a station wagon frame, and that one doesn't seem to fit 4-door cars. I'm actually surprised that it makes a difference. It's not like there's such a shortage of space under there for a cable.
