RE: [Chevelle-list] Final one ...
Typical business of today Dale, the PACE magazine ad was much better. I can't find the system on GM's web site. I am sure it's there but they didn't make it easy to find. To answer your earlier comments about the reduction of water pump efficiency, it wasn't something I could confirm. But I also couldn't prove it wrong. A guy on Team Chevelle whom I trust when it comes to cooling says it's so. That doesn't make it right or wrong, and I did see somewhere else where it said the "fact" in question. I don't even remember where now. Rather than take a chance, if it's true I'll take the 20% more efficiency. However, if I had known this big block system was going to come out, I would have had to think hard about the trade-offs of all of the time and effort I had to put into making this system work. The price from GM is at least half way reasonable...and about half of what aftermarket systems are going for.or less. Is there something backwards here? OK, it's probably not near as good looking as the aftermarket serpentine systems...but maybe with a little imagination and some paint. ? Re: [Chevelle-list] Final one ...
Charles, GM just recently came out with a Big Block serpentine system. One heck of a good deal too since it includes the A/C compressor, alternator and water pump along with brackets etc. Check out with A/C for $779 at http://www.paceperformance.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=26946 This one doesn't have A/C, but is still for a big block. It's so new that there's no pictures yet. http://www.paceperformance.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=26947 I am sure your local dealer and GMPartdirect.com would have them also.
