RE: [Chevelle-List] Test - Did anyone see this?
The list is not censored or edited. I (list admin) get the same copies as everyone else after they are sent. If an email account was full and bounced back the messages several times then it is removed from the list - can't do much about a full mailbox, usually happens around holidays. As to the second part, yes, some messages are not always reaching hotmail accounts. I get batched return mail saying their mail server is unavailable, out of memory or other errors. Sometimes they get delivered a day late and other times they simply vanish. Msn accounts also have occasional fits whereby the mail server is overloaded and sends back the list mail, they usually resend ok the next time. We also have signups with the www in the mail address, these, of course, do not work. Lately, some mail systems kick out list email classifying it as spam, depending on the content filters they use. Technically, this IS bulk email and some ISP's ban it, just in case it might be spam. Hmmm, the fact that I used the word spam in this email probably means that some of you will not be receiving this as overly aggressive filters send it to the dumpster. Hope this explains more about how this list runs. This is the email I thought I sent earlier, but I have not seen it show up, so here it goes again... Chuck, a member on the VetteNet saw the episode recently where you set up a self contained tranny cooler and fan (I must have missed that one). He asked some questions: > Horsepower TV had a product a few weeks ago that was a self > contained tranny cooler kit. He has a high performance street Corvette that he is doing some work on, and I'd love to put the two of you together. To Unsubscribe from the ListTo unsubscribe (immediately) from the Chevelle Mailing List Send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Put the following in the BODY of the email: unsubscribe chevelle-list [EMAIL PROTECTED](now, make sure and change yourname to your name, ok?) This MUST be sent from the address that you subscribed from. Do not put anything else in the email, this includes a 'signature' as the program thinks everything in the email is a command. If in doubt, put the word end on a line by itself right after your unsubscribe request. Problems? No Problem... send your request to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] and we will remove you, no need to panic. Please try and unsubscribe first as we get a TON of email each day (if you thought the list sent you a lot of mail, hey, you ain't seen noth'in! All this was explained in the email you received when you joined - which you probably deleted... that's OK, but don't get cranky at all the members on the list if you want to unsubscribe RIGHT NOW. Be patient, they are. IF you send your unsubscribe request to the entire mailing list (over 200 people) you better expect to get a couple of annoyed replies. So, don't hit the reply key to an email from the list and ask to unsubscribe. It's like picking up the phone on a party line and yelling for them to hang up. Sometimes it works, sometimes it just gets 'em mad. Still in doubt? OK, click this email link and type help in the body of the email. We will send you a big list of all the stuff Majordomo can do to help you better follow a mailing list. Re: [Chevelle-List] Test starting engine
When I first got my '66 home, it had no trunk, so I had to pull the tank to do welding back there- While I had no tank, I was able to roll the car out in the driveway, put a gas can under the front with rubber fuel line in it, hook it up in place of the metal line running up the body, and I had no problems with it that way. Just keep in mind that I was not moving the car, and since it was outside I had no fume issues. Good luck! I've used a 1 gallon can with a 3/8" copper tube soldered at the bottom and 3/8" id flexible hose to run directly (gravity feed) to the fuel inlet at the carb. Over the years it has hobbled me home from malfunctioning fuel pumps and to move cars like you described. Krister Meister Barlett, IL '66 SS #'s matching "K. I'm going for a BB swap and want to start cleaning/painting/prepping the engine bay for the 396. Before I pull it, I want to see if the motor will start. Previous owner claimed it would, but it had no carb, so I couldn't prove otherwise. Besides, I knew I was going to pull it and didn't care if it ran or not. I've since put a 2bbl carb on that I had sitting around the garage. Well, now I'm curious to see if it will run, and want to get some advice from the List regarding hooking up a fuel source to the motor to feed it some juice. The fuel tank is out of the car and being dipped, and the fuel line from the fuel pump to the gas tank is a rusty mess. Title: Test starting engine I have done that befoe just to move a car. Very flammable so you have to take care. Leave it on the floor and away from exhaust, incase carb backfires etc. A friend of mine was burnt really bad putting fuel down a carb with an open container. Not one of his smarter moves.
