I don't know if you would find it useful, but I created a database of
owner info you can add yourself to:

OK, I figured why not go and check it out, so I just set up a yahoo
group.
 It's at:

 http://groups.yahoo.com/group/chevelle-list_group/join

I guess you need a yahoo ID to access groups?..not too sure
but anyway, there's a bunch of stuff that the list could possibly make
use
 of.

  Brad,
I was just suggesting yahoo as another alternative place to use for
the
photo albums, and file storage for the list members., not as a
replacement
for this list. I would be willing to keep an eye on things, not that
there
would be much to do. If it was private for this list's members only,
then
there would be authorizing when people sign up. As many sites and
pages
as
there are on-line already, it may just be a waste of time. I needed
a
 place
to put the list screensaver (if anyone wants it still, and maybe an
 updated
version) so I may just go ahead and set it up.

The list is hosted by Team Chevelle and Al is the moderator of sorts.
He's pretty busy with his daytime job AND running Team Chevelle. I offered
to moderate it some time ago but it never got very far. He does keep up the
list for maintenance and removing people who can't figure out the
unsubscribe instructions.

We don't really have an owner of the list anymore, do we? It used to
be Mitch, and he could decide what went on the site. Maybe if we had a
Yahoo Group, the link could be from there if we wanted to use it, but I
have seen lots of complaints about Yahoo groups lately. They now throw
a lot of advertising at you. If you read the group from the web site,
they make you click past an ad page first, and they put ads in the email
sent to you as well. Without a real decision maker for the Chevelle
List, this might not go anywhere...

Only problem with that is that so many people sub and unsub, it would be
hard to keep track of everyone. The password could be random generated, and
I am sure it can be scripted with some kind of time limit feature so the pw
could expire if you didnt log in for a set number of days.

Don't know the in's and outs of Chevelles.NET but
 would it not be possible
to enable password driven access to the ADD FEATURE'
 for list members cars?

If the ADD FEATURE was password driven, that
 password could be given to
members of the list. Visitors whom do not have access
 to the list would not
be able to add their cars because they would not have
 the password...

Too much turnover on the list to do that. Plus you'd be surprised at
what some folks try to add to a public site.

Why does it matter so much that non-list members add their info? Just have
a check-box that they can check if they're a list member. Then you'll know
who is and who isn't.
