Dan, On the 68-69 the tee is built into the distal end of the flex line. Trooper Dan McIntosh wrote: I will chime in on this thread. There are no junction blocks or short lines. If that is the case in the 70-72 I have never seen anyone selling that block or short line either. On factory disc brake cars, there is the long front to rear line, then on the rear cross member, there is a little junction block. I really do not know why it is there, but mine has it as well as every other disc brake car I have seen. The long line goes into that then there is a short hard line that goes from that block to the rear flex hose. Ed, The combo one is called a combination valve believe it or not :) They sell for about $60.00 and can be purchased from any of the resto. companies or directly from GM. But like Tom said, it is very rare for the prop. valve or the dist. block to go bad. Tom, There are actually 8 hard lines in all for power disc brakes for 69-72 Chevelles. 5 up front, the front to back, and the two on the rear axle. Then three flex lines. Two up front and one in back. Trooper [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Where do you buy the new ones and what is the combo unit called??? The hard line kit is a total of 7 pieces if I recall correctly. If you do not include the front to rear lines, the total is 5 pieces. Re: [Chevelle-List] Brake problems continued
every resto parts supplier has those IE Ground Up, Year One, OPG, etc. The proportioning valves rarely go bad and the distribution block really can't go bad either unless it has rust in it which is highly unlikey. If I were you, I would replace all of the hard lines, hoses, Master Cylinder and take the prop valve and distribution block and blow them out with compressed air. After you blow them out, then pour some new brake fluid in them and blow them out again to flush out any contaminants. Tom

( the chevelle already has a block down on the frame, it is the only one on the car, i think it has an electrical connector on it). Thanks!! That "block" bolted on to the booster up by the master cylinder is the proportioning valve. The block down on the frame is the distribution block/switch assembly. GM now makes a replacement that is a prop. valve/dist. block/ switch assembly all in one and it looks like the old dist. block. I checked the steel lines and there also was no fluid coming through. At the suggestion of this board I am in process of replacing master Cylinder. There is an extra "Block" or "Valve" that is bolted on with the MC at the power brake booster. The front reservoir attaches to this "block/Valve" and goes on down to the proportioning block. The lines from the MC to this block/Valve are rusted or stuck so I ring off the short one which allows me to turn the block rather than the brake line head so I can remove the Block/valve. What is this "Block/Valve"? Can I replace it? Where do I find it? I have seen front line kits that say 5 pieces but have not been able to see illustrations. One thing I have not seen is anything other than the Proportioning block. I want to replace every part on these brakes so I know I will have no other problems.
