I got my information from the Goodmark R&D dept. about 10 minutes ago (you
asked, so I called), and they said they are still prototyping. In fact, I
mentioned the customs story and they said that they couldn't possibly be in
customs because none have left the factory. It definitely won't be March or

2004-03-04 Thread John Nasta
Well, I'm not sure where you heard that, but they are not held up in customs
unless there is somebody making them who I haven't heard about. Goodmark has
a test-fit vehicle and has gone back to their tooling presumably for the
last time in their efforts to make a successful prototype. Once they are
satisfied with the prototype, it will take about two months from the time
they start stamping to the time they hit the retail market. They seem to be
fairly confident that they will have a successful prototype within the next
week or two. DII is also still in the test-fit/prototype stage, and say that
they have no ETA as of yet. Right now I only have the DII panels listed on
my web site (there are pics as well - p/n's 1475J/K). The Goodmark ones will
be much more expensive and will have more of the sail panel.

Ditto on the catalog.

The company I work for does a cd with adobe files as a catalog. Costs about
$2 a piece and makes a bigger impact with buyers. Less real estate to take
up in their already crowded offices.

Diane, the search function will show the parts in date order. Many of the
mufflers fit applications all the way back to the 1950s. So, if you don't
type something more specific like 1972 Chevelle headliner, you will see the
entire list of things that contain the words 1972 and Chevelle. Also, if
there is a double-space in the search string, the search engine will ignore
anything after the double space.

Don't forget Trevor. He's a supplier that's on the list too, and seems
to have some good answers and parts. He seems to be just as good and
helpful as John. They are both great to have on here and we are able to
get parts from our fellow listers.

John's certainly treated me right, and my business will be going to him.
I have little concern of quality issues with him, because he's a fellow
enthusiast, and I can call to talk with him personally.

Looks like
I missed some high quality comedy while I was out sloshing around in the snow
tonight. Who is in charge of the list har-chives? There is a guy on the Olds
list who every once in a while posts some of the funnier snippets back to the
list all in one message. It can be pretty funny to look back and remember stuff
like this.

Ok guys, we have a real saint on the Chevelle List.

A couple of days ago I emailed John Nasta inquiring about a gas tank
for my Elky.  He responded quickly with the info I needed.

Today, I received an email from John with an eBay link for a new gas
tank at nearly half price!  I'm quite sure John knew he would lose a
sale by sending me that link, but he did it anyway!  Now that my
friends, is a new high in customer service.

John, next time I need resto parts, your web page will be the
  first place I look.  Thanks.

Thanks Brad.  My tank is good, I just want a new one so I can weld in
a rear sump - I'm getting tired of sucking air instead of fuel!

If anyone out there needs a good used gas tank for an Elky or wagon, let me
know.

Wow! Thanks

they will always come back. I'm in this for the long haul rather than the quick
buck.

Good luck,
