Well, I did this as a test a few months back and gave instructions. I have some sites that use this same feature for a car club listing. See http://www.bumpstop.com/clubs/autoclub.htm for one example. He has 201 clubs listed here. If anyone wants to post information about their car, they can view the site here http://ep.com/js/csp/38046.html and click on a "post" link. Choose "Private Party" unless you want to pay for your listing. You will have to register first, all you need is a name, email, and password. The next page is a "Post Ad" form. Check the location and edit if needed; Price$: Leave blank - unless you are selling your car; Label: Enter your car year and model (i.e. 1967 SS396); Buyline: Enter as a quick description of the car; More Info: fill in as much as you want here. Don't check any of the paid options unless you want to donate money to EPage! Once the ad is posted, you can log into your account and add a picture to the ad. Ads can be renewed via email, and if this is popular, I will make them last six months instead of 31 days. Brad- That would be a cool and unique (?) feature for a list group such as this. Brad That seem like it will work. I'll wait and see what everyone else wants to do. Thanks. RE: [Chevelle-List] List question
This seems like a good idea but you have to get the site's url out in front of the membership often so people can utilize it. -- Jeff Fischer Lake Elmo, MN '71 Chevelle SS, 454, 4 spd http://home.attbi.com/~addss/chevelle.html At 09:57 AM 7/31/2002 -0700, you wrote: >We can try something like that, but last time a request was made to >compile a list of everyone's cars, I set up this site: >http://ep.com/js/csp/38046.html > >As you can see, it was not very popular. RE: [Chevelle-List] List question
We can try something like that, but last time a request was made to compile a list of everyone's cars, I set up this site: http://ep.com/js/csp/38046.html As you can see, it was not very popular. This is a custom classified ad site (this is what my company does) that I created for the list use. If it was popular, I could have edited it some more, and made the posts last 6 months (prompts you to update info and removes people who leave the list), or whatever people wanted. The same site can be edited to create categories for owners or whatever you want. You can type whatever you want into the body of the post, and you can add one picture as well. Email addresses are hidden and cannot be spidered from this, so as long as you do not put information into your "more Info", then nobody would be able to harvest anything. Let me know if anyone wants something like this here. I can set it up in minutes. Re: [Chevelle-List] List question
I agree Craig, but you need someone who would be willing to compile the list and archive it for anyone who requests, unless it's for trying to sell them something. Gotta be careful of spammers getting a list like that. Probably should be done off list to the person getting the info, then offered to list members only. What the hell I'd do it if everyone just sends their name, email address, home town and whether they deal in parts or not, off list I can keep it here.
