I've made some of my trophies public. You can see the initial results of pulling the Corvette engine here:

And close-ups of all the broken parts here:

And the bent pushrod form the Chevelle:

2003-06-11 Thread Krister Meister

My brother does not appreciate the fact that oil is cheap, needs to be
checked and changed regularly. He has seized/blown apart two Kohler lawn
tractor engines while we lived at home and last year borrowed one of my
dads Suburban's for a period of time - small oil leak - no big deal - never
checked oil level over period of time - oil depletes = seized engine. My
dad has made cut away trophies of the lawn mower short blocks reveling the
damage. And for Christmas last year my brother got the dip stick from the
truck nicely mounted on a varnished piece of Oak with a arrow pointing to
the "Full" mark.

Hey, I have a pic of the #2 wrist pin not pressed in all the way,
almost rubbing the cylinder wall on my NEW HT383 (right from the crate)
from GMPP @ $3,750. I always take apart the "new" crate motors before
installing them. Good thing I do. If you buy a new crate motor be sure
& pull the pan & intake & check, if anything looks funny pull the heads
also, only costs gaskets.
