Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if $40.00 is a good price for an
ACES membership for my dad. He just picked up his restored 66 Chevelle SS

his dream for the past 20 years).
I thought it might be a nice Christmas gift. The car looks so good that
he is afraid to drive it. Seriously! He bought a new 28'NASCAR series
enclosed trailer and had the restoration guy load it. It's been in the
trailer ever since.
 Thanks

Thanks Everyone, I will get him a membership. He wants to drive the Chevelle
but he is a little large and can't maneuver into the car while it is on the
trailer. He got a 5 ton winch, but hasn't had the time/money to get it
installed yet. I might pay for that too. It's kind of strange catching your
dad just staring through the side door of the trailer with a bit of a tear in
his eye.

We live in Arizona. Tennessee is a bit of a drive, but it might be worth it.
I might get him to enter into the Phoenix World of Wheels, the Super Chevy
Shows around here, and maybe some shows in California.

Since I saw how perfect his car is, I've been thinking harder about cleaning up
my 70SS. I just bought some interior stuff as a Christmas present to me.

I wish I could show you guys pictures of dad's car, but I don't know how to
post web photos. Thanks for the info about the club and Merry Christmas!
Steve

p.s.- Do they have a trunk monkey for 4cyl S-10 pickups?

2004-12-16 Thread Clint Hooper
An ACES membership is an excellent accessory for Chevelle/El Camino
ownership. Worth the money,IMO.
One of the reasons I sold my Callaway Aerobody ZR-1 was it seemed to collect
more dust sitting in my shop than being driven. When I undertook my 69 El
Camino project,I vowed to drive this one. It doesn't get driven as much as
my former daily driver 68 Elky but I still get a buzz when on the road in
it. My health and funds just haven't been there this year, though.
Hopefully,2005 will be better.

Best $40 you will spend IMHO. BTW, it is the same price for everyone. Go for it!
