:) True.
Re: [Chevelle-list] Update: Hole in frame of '90 Caprice
If you get married she won't let you, they have what they call ex-wives. If you buy a Chevelle and then get married, and she says it's me or the Chevelle, they have what they call ex-wives. Just Kidding?? Many of us have gone through this. I had a rust bucket in the garage for years. A growing family, lots of bills and no extra $$. My family was supportive of my interests and when the time was finally right at age 52, I had the $$ to pursue my dream and did. Sold the ruster and had a Northwest car shipped. Of course I've put more in it than it originally cost but it's more afforable today. Family is First. Work hard, study hard and get a good education. If $$ is not a problem in your early years, you could have your car sooner than alot of people. Look around at the car shows. There's alot of 50-60 year olds who know exactly what I mean. If you find a woman that shares your love for Chevelles and old cars, Life can be Sweet!! Good Luck. Ya. For me to find somethin in decent shape I'd probably have to go to some southern state cuz anythin thats been up here in Buffalo is gonna be really rusty andbeat, maybe even have a few bullet holes from stray bullets. But it will all have to wait till I'm done with college and have enough money to buy one.

I was like that when I was a 7 or 8 yr. old boy. My uncles purchased two(2) 63 Impala SS's. I was in love and hooked from that moment on. I hope you will follow your passion. There are thousands of people working at jobs that make them money but are not where the passion is. Agree? Exactly. I love classics and muscle cars. No plastic cars for me. Never would survive the school parking lot in the winter. I jus wish they could make a cologne that smells like a chevelles exhaust. :)

Wait another 20 years, when you have teenagers of your own, and its time to buy them a car, then youll understand your parents decision. My first car was a 2 wheel drive 1986 Ford Ranger (far cry from the 69 Chevelle that resides in my garage now!) Patience young Jedi, youll appreciate the muscle car of your dreams more, if you earn it or build it, rather than having Mom and Dad buy it for you. Maybe they should have listened to you?

LOL. I get the implied meaning behind that one.( if that was really a sarcastic statement, otherwise, yes they should have):)
RE: [Chevelle-list] Update: Hole in frame of '90 Caprice
My parents never bought me a car. My choice was to either ride my bike 2 miles to the train station to pick up my dads powder blue AMC station wagon and then be there to pick him up when he got off the train, or buy my own car. Eventually I bought a 1967 Nova for $125, which burned as much oil as gas. My dads first words were Youre not parking that P.O.S. in front of my house. So, I actually kept it at my neighbors house because they had a pole barn in the back yard. I had a friend who was a mechanic, and he helped me rebuild the engine. The rest is history.

The 67 Nova was my first car, so that must have been about 1979. That car got T-boned and I junked it. My second car was a 1963 Nova that I bought for $300. -Original Message- John, what year was it that you bought the Nova? A 67 Nova is going to mislead him, because thats considered a classic muscle car by todays standards, and Im sure hed love to get his hands on one. Im with you though, my parents didnt buy my truck either, I had to pay the car note, insurance, and the gas. If I couldnt afford something, my Dad made sure it was the gas tank that suffered. I never missed a car note, or an insurance payment. I did walk a few times, though, cuz I didnt have the coin to fill the tank! I remember thinking how insurance sucked back then! Re: [Chevelle-list] Update: Hole in frame of '90 Caprice
There are deals on classics still. They are around but definitely not on e-bay. My dream car was out of reach 1970-72 Chevelle when I was 16. I did however get a 71 Cutlass S for $150 with a bad trans and radiator. With help from friends and about $1000 in parts I really had a looker. I sold it when I got married the first time. In 1988 I found my first 72 Chevelle for $125 in SD. About 6 months ago I found a friend a 70 2 door Malibu for $250. Time is my problem, with a growing family, grass to keep up and about 20 other honey do's my current Chevelle just sits on jack stands. 13 years of ownership I haven't driven it more than 100 miles. One thing I do know, the value will not go down. I see decent drivers under 3K that are in decent shape yet most being around the $1500 range. - Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, July 20, 2004 11:53 AM Subject: Re: [Chevelle-list] Update: Hole in frame of '90 Caprice Your right. Id love to get my hands on one. Money is the only problem. Everything costs way too much these days. College especially. Why should people have to pay so much to make people intelligent. Yes, I know that we have to pay for all of the supplies, thats where the problem is. Its all so expensive. If it wasnt for inflation, prices would still be the same as they used to be, of course it would still seem expensive because eveyone would just make less money. Stupid money. Its gonna be a long time before my dream of ownig a muscle car comes true. No plastic cars for me. Gotta be metal and it has to have chrome. Sweet, shiny chrome. :)
